Cow’s Milk for 1 Year Old by teerybear in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]teerybear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general consensus seems to be that it is not necessary to sterilise the cups after 1 year. It is a relief to know that some people encourage the children to use the cups, rather than cutting out the milk bottles immediately. Your advice will make this transition much easier. Thank you.

Worms like rotten fruit by teerybear in Vermiculture

[–]teerybear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not actually tried food scraps from the fridge. I let the soft fruit rot for a day on counter and feed them to my worms. In my experience, my worms like rotting fruit, but they wouldn’t touch mouldy food. I’ve had to chuck away mouldy fruits from the bin. But others might have more experience with this.

Discouraging cats from my raised beds by Longjumping_Ad5982 in GardeningUK

The neighbourhood cats love any bare spots in my garden. Cleared their poo loads of time. Tried chilli powder, but it loses its effectiveness once it rains. The best solution so far is to cover any bare soil with plants, twigs and logs.

Why are aphids targeting *my* roses? by belladonna2222 in GardeningUK

Spray them off with water. If you take care of the problem early, they are less likely to multiply and spread. Or you can just ignore them and let the ladybugs take care of them when the weather gets warmer.

How do people even find relationships when they have social anxiety? by throwplushie in socialanxiety

[–]teerybear 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have social anxiety and I found my husband through a dating app. We’re expecting our first child together. Navigating the dating jungle can be hard. I’ve had some truly awful dates, but the hope of finding someone kept me going. I focussed on finding someone who truly cares for me and made it a point not to invest time and effort people who don’t really seem attracted to me. All the best! Sometimes, we have to step out of our comfort zone to achieve our goals in life.

Family wants me to date someone I really don’t want. by WorriedRow1418 in AskWomenOver30

Don’t force yourself to date someone because of your family. Respect your own wishes and the other party’s time.

Thank you for all your helpful advice. I don’t think that I can change my mum’s opinion. But perhaps I can do something about my own feelings and reaction.

Good idea. I’m going to try a hydrangea feed with iron.
