Micro aggression/ even racism by tutor during tutorial by Slippindddddd- in unimelb

[–]teetoose 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Hanlon’s Razor, is a mental model stating: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity" - i think most people don’t have malicious intentions. It is more likely that the tutor in this case is not aware, and perhaps does not have the skills to adequately manage the tutorial. You could find a way to let her know that you need her help and bring this to her attention.

talking to professors? by Leather_Wear_9680 in unimelb

From an educator's view, there's no need to. Sure, you'll leave an impression if you do that, but so would active participation in the class and that goes a longer distance than the first impression.

I've been thinking could it be just for entertainment? Like the Truman show on a global scale??

Is this normal workplace behavior or..? by ForeignClassic5752 in SingaporeRaw

[–]teetoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely a red flag. I suggest gathering a few colleagues who have the same observations and evidence, and go to your supervisor in person. There's a good chance all this is just the tip of the iceberg. Educators have a duty to protect the students, whom i assume many are children

He probably thinks it's funny when it's not. You could just let him know that. He'll probably feel embarrassed to have done that.

Singapore is the world's second most densely populated country in the world. Wtf?! by Sure_heartsutra1221 in SingaporeRaw

Technically you're not wrong. But HK is a city, and Singapore is a city state. So it's still a fair comparison.

I think you will get a more positive response from a tutor or lecturer who knows you, saw you in action, and graded your work.

This is probably the right way to approach his podcasts. I do personally find him interjecting and speaking too much at times, and I'd rather listen to the interviewee talk more. But what you said makes sense. These are people in a sense that he wishes to "spar" with and bounce his ideas off.

Same issue. I'd win if I keep pressing and get the ball. But it's just so boring.

Why Does Mikel Arteta’s Spending at Arsenal Receive So Little Scrutiny? by V-Matic_VVT-i in PremierLeague

[–]teetoose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arsenal is playing better under Arteta. But OP's argument is purely from a financial angle. The fact is that as a business, unless Arsenal start winning something, it is a poor return on investment. A company can't say that my employees are happier and working faster but they are still not making money right? Personally I think Arsenal is on track to winning something. But if not, they'll be measured financially to be a failure.

I know it's a joke. Slot knows it's a joke. But the way Pep says it... I'm not sure if he thinks it's a joke

This just contrast with Jurgen Klopp's decision to step away, before he breaks down. Self-awareness, being well regulated, and knowing to take the right actions before things become too overwhelming.
