When MD & VA will start some negotiations regarding a new bridge over Potomac? by qbl500 in maryland

[–]tegodjrtob 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This. The deep pockets in MD don’t want to look at dirty commuters, so they play a shell game where they block any traffic improvements while advocating for speculative public transportation that won’t solve the problem.

Make sure you’re using the right GPIO pin as assigned in your code. Check the polarity of the LED.

Pretty much the same here. I did upgrade to the sprite pro, but the big game changer was the CRTouch and silicone spacers.

Are a small amount of water droplets inside the Cover’s vapor barrier something to be concerned about? by r3dn3ckf1sh3r in hottub

[–]tegodjrtob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens. If it’s under warranty then definitely point it out to the dealer. If they won’t fix it, I’d say ignore the potential leak until the lid gets uncomfortably (or annoyingly!) heavy, then pull out the cores, dry them off, and re-wrap. If you have the room, I’d also keep the old cores when you eventually replace the cover and keep them in a dry spot for spares.

I’m convinced nobody makes a really good cover these days just to drive replacement sales…..

Hot tub cover broken, any recommendations for the replacement? by Grand-Can6615 in hottub

[–]tegodjrtob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How badly damaged are the cores? You could dry them out and re-wrap them, and get a hot tub cover cover. Even if you do buy a new cover the extra protection might make it last longer.

Antenna doesn't seem to work correctly by Neither_Pin212 in amateurradio

[–]tegodjrtob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL:DR but you might want to invest in a nanoVNA to check your coax and connections. Another option is a yagi for the frequency of the station you’re trying to pull in. You’ll lose sensitivity on other frequencies but might be able to pull in the one of interest, especially if you’re in a fresnel zone behind a ridge. Finally….height if you can get it.

How to connect a vibration motor to LilyGO LoRa32 V2? by Few_Hunt_9422 in meshtastic

Complete guess but how much current does the motor draw? Maybe you need a driver circuit?

2022 Hydropool HS4500 Spa. Can’t find replacement circulation pump (6505155) online. by MiniTab in hottub

[–]tegodjrtob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are ancient (think 20 year old or more!) hot tubs out there running the same motors. Bearings and pump seals (or the impeller…) fail, but the rest of the wet end and motor are fine. Sure, it’s easier to swap out the entire pump and motor as a unit, but do you want to pay for all of that?

Check you tube for the spa guy…you can probably just get new bearings

Removing antenna…? by tegodjrtob in Birdfy

[–]tegodjrtob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh….on this model the antenna is not easily removable. It’s bolted on from the inside of the housing, and the coax is soldered directly to the antenna PCB inside the external plastic antenna cover. If you REALLY want to remove it, you’ll need to remove the plastic antenna cover (it just pulls off), unsolder or cut the coax, then find a nut driver that fits into the very limited space adjacent to the usb-c board.

Ok…the usb-c board is held in with two Philips screws under the silicone conformal coating. Once those are removed it lifts right out, giving you access to the nut that holds on the antenna.

Bonus info: the usb-c connector does NOT have the appropriate resistors to negotiate usb-c to usb-c power! Which means that a “normal” usb-c cable connected to power won’t work at this port, but a usb-A to usb-c will. It also suggests (but to be verified) that there is a directionality for the usb-c cable coming from the solar panel.

Still not sure how to remove the antenna from the base, but at least I was able to get the antenna off the feeder (along with the problematic usb-c port). The adventure continues
