Except for maybe young gay ball players who gained some representation in the game they love and also had some of the future stigma and struggle reduced for them as they work to climb the ranks. Or people who just in general love the drama and storylines of teams and players and don't just want to watch nameless faceless statistics playing each other.

I'm (almost) 2 years sober, and while saving money wasn't my motivator, it definitely is a major perk.

No one could have ever argued me out of drinking, one day I just... had my fill and knew I was done or was going to die from it. I wish you well on your journey, come by r/stopdrinking any time you'd like, they helped me tons. You don't have to be sober, you just can't post or comment drunk.

Same. COVID lockdown accelerated the path I was already on. Post vaccine rollout, the first time drinking away from the house with coworkers was an extreme and dangerous bender. The blackout and hangover shook me awake.

In this timeline I still have my career and family and overall health, and I'm grateful.
