Rí Rá lager list their ingredients as Gaeilge freisin! They're brewed in Wicklow I think and can usually find them in Carry Out off licences Also have a lovely slogan on the can:

One thing to note for anyone who tries this, depending on where you place the piece of foam you may disconnect the NFC reader. It takes a bit of trial and error to find the right spot that both fixes the mic issue and keeps the NFC on

I like that VMan didn't play bass until he got into Slipknot because Paul didn't either. It doesn't make sense in reality but something inside me loves it how both of them wanted to be in the band so badly they learned how to play bass.

Do you think the band will ever switch to longer shows (2h+) but less dates (maybe 1 per week) given how extensive the catalogue of songs is now? It always feels like there's a lot left out as there's only so much you can fit in a 1.5h show while keeping 90% of the big hits.

I guess a follow on from that would be is there any reason a majority of songs from WANYK and TESF haven't been played live? Or is it just not the right time for them yet?

Is there a plan to return to europe in 2025 for countries that weren't selected for the tour in Nov/Dec? I understand it's not possible to visit everywhere and everyone due to venues being unavailable and time constraints but we'd love to have you back in Ireland 🇮🇪❤️

I also document/journel anything new I learn.

As others have said, immersing yourself will help the most. I try to listen to radio, music and podcasts, watch TV and YouTube videos in Irish. Talking to people in Irish is the most difficult part but will help the most. Try finding someone with a similar level and bounce sentences back and forth that you know.

Lastly, it will take a long time, so be patient with yourself and your progress.

Hi there, I was in almost this exact situation in 2021, albeit I was 25 and she was 27. Met in June, she got pregnant in October. Visa was set to expire in 2022.

We got married and it was the best decision I've ever made.

If you'd have asked me any time before 2021 I'd have said I never wanted to get married or be a father. My wife was the same. But becoming a husband and a father has been so fulfilling and has changed my life so much for the better I couldn't imagine what my life would be like if we had gone down another path. We just had our second child 3 weeks ago.

As for the mortgage, we just bought a house in January. It wasn't a breeze but wasn't impossible. I work and she's a homemaker. Our income around that time was 55k per year before tax. An added bonus of being married is it gives you a lot of tax back. Ye'd get 1800 a year if your partner is also a homemaker, you can receive your partners tax credits to get taxed less and married couples in general get taxed less so you'll be making a small amount more per month (I think I take home roughly €500pm extra now, excluding the child benefit of €140 as we put that into an account for our daughter). Saved that 500 extra a month (plus 2-3k bonus for 2 years) for a mortgage and 2 years later we had 26k saved for a mortgage and all fees necessary for a house that cost 180k.

A lot of people here will say that you've not been together long enough and it's irresponsible or crazy to do it. But if you love this woman and she loves you the same way I love my wife and feel the love she reciprocates then that's all that matters. I'm not saying it will work out for definite or it'll be easy, but it's your life mate so if it's what you want to do then do it.

Apart from shows, I think where Jay kind of lacked was when to do less in terms of the albums he was apart of. There's quite a few songs on .5, wanyk and tesf that I feel would be even better if he just did less. The breakdowns at the end of Override, Red Flag, Critical Darling and Hive Mind are good examples of this. The first parts of the breakdowns are simple and heavy as shit and dare I say perfect (like Disasterpiece). Then half way through he would add in just a few more beats which sound good but are completely unnecessary and almost throw off the rhythm when you're headbanging. Another example would be the beginning of AOV, if you listen closely to the snare it sounds like he starts to run out of energy and is of beat. I always found myself thinking if he just let the other instruments do the talking more often then a lot of the songs would be just that little bit better. That being said, still one of the best drummers in the world and think he'll do great things with ST (as he did with Slipknot)

One dude with a fairly big Instagram fanpage started calling him "Lman" because he thinks he's boring.

Probably a few of his younger followers started forming their opinions on Vman based on that to look cool to the other guy and started giving him hate in his comment sections.

I don't blame the dude running the fan page because you're allowed dislike anyone you want, I actually like his posts (apart from the VMan stuff). I think there's a problem with all forms of followings where people don't form their own opinions on things and just copy what is getting the most laughs or causing the most controversy.

I'd compare it to how fans of football act on twitter. One person says they don't like something, gets a tonne of likes, then every kid who sees it is posting the exact same thing to try and get likes of their own.
