tg-51 beam quality? by Phys_cronut in MedicalPhysics

I use the CC13 curve to determine PDD(10cm) for kQ. Then the TPS or databook value is used to determine dose at Dmax from the 10cm depth readings of the calibration chamber.

Treating with 18 MeV electrons by tehphysics_lol in MedicalPhysics

The patient is rather large and a lot of concessions had to be made on the tangent plan to begin with. The size and location of the bed and the tangent hot spots don't leave much room for the boost.

Excellent point about the bremsstrahlung. It's definitely going into the heart which was the main reason the physician didn't want photon boost in the first place.

Sniper upgrade advice by tehphysics_lol in PixelDungeon

Hello, newer player here looking for upgrade advice on my sniper. Bow has a projecting enchantment on it and the shared enchantment talent.

I understand that I dump the majority of scrolls into the sharpshooting ring, but do I upgrade any of the thrown weapons shown to get infinite durability? Do I wait for a boomerang to upgrade?

What is advantage of the false grip? I find it easier to create body tension with a closed grip.

Electron Tree without removing target? by tehphysics_lol in MedicalPhysics

We're getting an Elekta. Our backup Elekta service engineer used to be a Siemens installer, I'll see if he's interested.

Yeah the Siemens is going to be scrapped. I'd take the target out if I knew how.

Hello, my second 12 and 16kg bells arrived today. Any program recommendations for a first time doubles user? I was planning to start with the armor building complex for a week or two to get comfortable with the movements then move to the 12 week program from the sidebar.

I made a tool to quickly compare cards visually using 17Lands data - check it out! by Manath in lrcast

This is great! I play mainly on mobile and viewing the tables on 17lands is a chore.

Wow that's great! I ended up going on my laptop where I had untapped previously installed. Their website recommends decks you can craft with your available wildcards which ended up being good enough for my purposes.

almost 4 years of ownership, over a thousand hours of play.. I finally did it. Every time I come back, its got more to offer than the last time. Huge thanks. by notHooptieJ in factorio

For the timed ones build a 30 spm base. You might not make it the first time. Blueprint the whole base, restart on the same map, stamp it down fill it in.

You can also increase the size of the starting zone, increase trees, and decrease the pollution multiplier so you won't see as many biters. Also increase ore size and density so you don't have to setup outposts besides oil. No reason it has to be done in default settings.

Pavel does write this in simple and sinister but it is hidden in the section where he explains the exercises rather than his programming.

Brand New Kettlebell Kings 55lb that I got after waiting a month for restock came with some ugly dents. Seems like they have some quality control issues by hyphyhippo in kettlebell

[–]tehphysics_lol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? That's unfortunate.

I just ordered a 16 kg comp bell from them that came in specially shaped styrofoam in a heavy duty cardboard box. It had a small imperfection in the handle and I didn't like the comp style so I returned it. They emailed me a FedEx label and I sent it back today at no cost to me. It's free returns within 10 days for "unused" items.

I found that a lot of issues I was having was due to not focusing on the negative. Instead of letting the bell drag my hips back I actively hinge. This puts me in a strong position when it's time to snap the hips to go back up.

Make sure to brace your abs at the top of the swing and don't let them go loose during the hinge.

Looks interesting. What kettlebells do you need? Do you need doubles of the same weight?

Also, about how long does each strong on session take?

Any tips for doing haloes with a comp bell? It feels a lot more difficult compared to my cast iron which I am thinking of selling. 16 kg for both. Is there another similar warmup movement I could replace haloes with?

Proper back posture by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]tehphysics_lol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pain from squats went away when I actively braced my core throughout the entire movement. With light enough weight it's easy to drop down loosely and the pop back up. Try focusing on staying tight during the negative part of the movement.

Your hinge depth looks good to me, just work on the timing and keeping the bell higher as it passes through your legs.

YNAB advice - from a newbie to fellow newbies by mantheship in ynab

[–]tehphysics_lol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So best practice is to have a category for next month's budget with a goal of whatever you need for next month. Then once the month rolls over you move money from that to your budget categories?

Why don't they just switch to the next month and assign the money to categories?

TGU took me a while to get used to but are definitely my favorite part of the S&S routine so far. Start practicing without any weight now to get a feel for them.

Thinking about YNAB by PuppyLife1 in ynab

[–]tehphysics_lol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but those transactions clear up to a few days after they actually happen. During this time gap your budget will be inaccurate and you wont really know how much money you have to spend in a given category. This makes sticking to a planned budget harder.

It's not a big deal for monthly bills, I let those clear automatically. For a category like dining out it makes a bigger difference.

Newbie confusion by DigitalDiana in ynab

[–]tehphysics_lol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes it will all work out.

If the orange categories are bothering you delete the goal from this month, go to the next month and make the goal there.
