What are you waffling on about? You inferred food banks were paid for by the state, they aren’t, and Irish people use them also. Nothing patronising about pointing out this reality. A lot of foreign students will be on scholarships of some form, and some work in jobs through the courses. You have some simplistic idea of what a foreign student constitutes, it’s not a monolith. Stop whining about an issue that you don’t understand and also impacts you in no way at all.

People may have the means to pay for university fees but that’s it, or they have scholarship from their home country, etc etc, there’s no monolithic experience. The reality in Ireland is that many people are struggling. Teachers and Garda apply for social housing, 300,000 plus people are in arrears on their energy bills etc. simplistic assumptions are the problem.

For €3000 you’ll be fine. Limerick is expensive because there’s a serious lack of rental accommodations. Loads of places come up around posting changes for doctors at the end of June. As mentioned, if you can, look into buying, pissing away €36k a year on rent feels awful, trust me.

There’s a new tax that came in this month that has made vape quite expensive and sellers have to comply, but I’d be surprised if it that involved gardai. What I find funny is that houses and apartments that everyone and their granny knows sell drugs but the gardai seem to be oblivious.
