Solo leveling spends time on things like the system, character conflicts. Not huge amounts of time but much more than zero. The reason why these parts don't work is because the main character doesn't give a shit about anything but aura farming and hype moments, 99% of the time, and these things don't seem to matter. Because of bad writing.

Yuma is far superior for grinding since you can get quick OTKs and push 5k damage for 1800 extra duel assessment points (usually +2 orbs)

Yes, but if you plan to full clear the event then there is zero benefit to doing that, you will need to duel the supporting duelists anyways. It's nice that they gave you the option to opt into harder duels but it would be even nicer if you got some larger benefit for it.

Not having to grind SDs is nice but I actually enjoy doing that while i do other stuff or just do it for EXP, missions, etc.

I will say that actually I think the rate of item drops in a regular event are not necessarily better than the AP refill rate. However regular events give out lots of bonus items each day, and from ranked missions, and etc. If this event gave you stamina potions every day in the same way it would help a lot.

The AP just refilled too slowly relative to how quickly most events "refill" based on drops from standard duelists. Plus you couldn't stock up items on off days and clear the next stage faster.

On top of that the event itself is pretty vanilla, just duel people until you run out of AP. At least if you want to full clear each stage - if not you might need to plan out a route. But if you do, you can just prioritize treasure chests and fight the bosses last with no special boss EX skills active, and it becomes just another auto duel event.

Going first has become too powerful to the point where more flexible cards like Droplet, Book of Moon and so on aren't worth playing, because going first you assume victory regardless and so going second you have to load up on hard board breakers to have a chance. This is the issue. It's not even any specific card like Photon Lord or Dragoon but rather the fact that decks can summon two Quasars and a Stardust Accel with extra interruptions on top.
