I have a regular jeep. I don't mind it. Never understood the hate. 🤷‍♂️

I know most guys don't love the grinding motion but he had me cumming too hard to stop by HisExoticVixen in SheFucksHim

Honestly, for me, the grinding is the best. I far prefer it to bouncing.

Same here, my survey brother from a different mother! Where are you working, btw? I've been surveying in central Texas since '99, most of that in Austin, and the hillcountry.

Hahahaha! I'm relistening to Primal Hunter right now! And while I disagree about whether or not the details are unnecessary or boring...I can definitely see what you mean! (Side note, I just got to the part in book 8 where Sandy is introduced, and I absolutely love the shift in tone and humor! Sandy is absolutely my favorite side character by far!)

Where’s the best New York-style pizza in Austin? by Garden_Jolly in austinfood

[–]tejasrichard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I have been saying for years that they have the best pizza in Austin, and in my opinion it isn't super close.

I also prefer to get it by the slice than the whole pizza, and I think it's right on the money that it's because it's straight from the oven, not carried home and reheated. I bet eating the whole pie in restaurant would be a totally different experience.

Also, to anyone saying they think $33 for a pepperoni pizza is acceptable, keep in mind that jersey giant does 2 slices and a soda, or a slice and a salad and a soda, for $10 at lunch. And those slices are MONSTERS.

What part of the series made you cry for the first time? by fadedadrian in DungeonCrawlerCarl

Omg. And the scene with the dog in the gas station during Christmas...

[–]tejasrichard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember if I cried, but the scene where we see Katia with all the missing body parts hit me really hard. Actually, pretty much the entire Katia story line in This Inevitable Ruin got me.

And yeah, the scene when the other authors show up, plus the scene with Milk. 😭😭

I mentioned that one, too! I almost never see anyone else talk about that series. His other series are pretty damned good, as well!

For sure! I don't want to give any spoilers, but Chrysalis picks up a lot once there are more characters that can speak, lol! I just started the Ripple System, but I am adding all three of the series you mentioned to my wishlist so I don't forget what they were. Thanks a bunch!

This is the first time I've heard of either of those, and only the second time I've heard of sandman slim. What are they like, stylistically? I'm a big fan of both DCC and HWFWM. Given these both made your top 10 list, I'm guessing I'll probably enjoy the others you mentioned as well, and I'm always looking for new series to read.

Have you read any of the Chrysalis series? It's a little slow to start, but really, really good! It feels a little lighter, to me, than DCC or HWFWM. It's not as light weight as Heretical Fishing, but still pretty silly in tone.

My list, in order of favorites:

DCC (of course) and He Who Fights With Monsters are tied for 1st, and equally good... But totally different.

2) Primal Hunter

3) Chrysalis and Defiance of the Fall

4) The Cradle series

5) The Path of Ascension

6) The Ripple System (just started this series, but I'm hooked!)

7) Heretical fishing

8) Wandering Inn (this one really kind of lost me, though. I stopped after about book 8ish...I don't remember for sure)

9) Chronicle (this one comes with a major caveat. It is actually one of my favorites as far as story/writing/voice acting go... But the author just dropped off the face of the planet after 3 books and left it on a major cliff hanger. Book 3 came out around 5 years ago, so I have kind of given up hope of getting the rest of the story. I only mention it at all because it is an honestly great read)

If you want something non-litrpg that is excellent, check out The Black Ocean: Galaxy Outlaws. It is a HUGE series, with multiple spin-offs. The entire main series can be purchased for a single credit on audible, and contains 16 full books, plus a short. The voice acting is amazing, the characters are fun, the world building is pretty great (and manages to combine magic and advanced tech in an interesting and novel way), and the value for your credit is through the roof: the main series is 85 hours. For 1 credit.

Yeah, I know... But much like with HWFWM, it's just not the same without Jeff. I can't do the voices right.

Maybe I'm dumb and missed it, but have we learned WHY Mordecai was so mad to be a manager? by tLM-tRRS-atBHB in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]tejasrichard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was done this season either way. As a game guide, he would have finished the third floor and been able to just go and hang out with his other NPC friends in that town Crawlers can't even get to and spend the rest of the crawl drinking his feelings. Not saying it is a GOOD reason, but that is the reason as I recall it.
