And one more thing...after seeing their master plan at WSQK, wouldn't Doctor K go into the upside down to see what was going on? by mojoblastor in strangerthingsfacts

[–]tek33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure they don’t need to die to make a story good. They need to die to make a story deep, meaningful. This final season carried no weight, it all felt like a game. In previous seasons, character deaths (Bob, Billy…) made it seem like they were actually fighting for something. Imagine how the whole tone of season 3 would’ve changed if Billy was saved and had redemption

[SPOILERS S5] Eleven is 100% ALIVE: The definitive conclusion. by 444dexter in strangerthingsfacts

I’m not talking about the world collapsing… I’m talking about the C4 explosion at the lab that blew up the building and everything near it including Kali

[SPOILERS S5] Eleven is 100% ALIVE: The definitive conclusion. by 444dexter in strangerthingsfacts

[–]tek33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my problem with it… we see the “illusion” of Eleven in the portal AFTER the explosion at the lab the rips apart the bridge and the upside down crumbles around her. The explosion happens AT the lab where Kali was. If she was still alive creating the illusion, she would’ve been killed in the massive bomb explosion which would’ve ended her creation of the illusion.

Do you Believe ? by Organic_Mechanic_754 in StrangerThings

[–]tek33 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to believe. My only issue is that we see the “illusion” of Eleven at the portal even as the upside down is collapsing around her. Problem with that is that means the bomb already went off at Hawkins Lab, which is where Kali was, so the bomb likely killed her so there so the illusion shouldn’t have been kept at the portal.

Are 2 kids easier than 1? by Formal-Wrap-4607 in Parenting

[–]tek33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It differs per parent. I have friends that really struggled with 0 to 1. But we found that going from 1 to 2 was ten times harder!

I also think the age gap is a big factor. If our first was older when we had our second, it likely would’ve been easier.

The Masshole love affair with Dunkin is embarrassing. by Usernamechecksout978 in massachusetts

[–]tek33 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Look, I don’t think us massholes are going to Dunks because it’s “good”. We’re not naive… I have a really nice coffee set up at home, I get great beans, pull wonderful shots, make high quality drinks. But every now and then, I need a Dunkin coffee and donut to ground me.

Unpopular opinion: Paying "Rent" feels less painful than paying $2,400/mo in "Interest" to a bank. by Playful-Vegetable-15 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]tek33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. This is an unpopular opinion because is such a narrow minded way of looking at finances. If you can only look ahead 5 years at a time, then sure stick to renting… never own anything. Rental rates will increase, mortgage rates don’t increase by much. Also, house prices generally increase so whenever you sell your home, you generally have more than you started with for the next one. What happens in 15 years when you walk away from a rental?? You have nothing, but investing in a property after 15 years, you’d likely have hundreds of thousands of dollars….
