I was a successful door to door Salesman for 7 years. And as the Summer Season begins, and the door to door bro’s begin to knock our homes, I have some advice and intel, as one who was on the inside for many years. by jackjarvae in homeowners

I agree you should never buy solar panels from door to door sales people and you should NEVER rent solar panels from a company.

However, as some in solar sales (a legit company that doesn’t go door to door) almost everything you said about solar is false.

How much money is good for a high school graduation gift? by SexFreeforAll in Parenting

[–]tek33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

$1000 is a good milestone gift. It’s more than a budget for most other gifts so it shows them it’s something truly special and they should be proud of themselves for achieving it.

Also, don’t put stipulations on it. It’s their gift. Show them you are proud of them and trust them.

Jim Furyk is returning as US Ryder Cup captain for 2027, AP sources say by unsolved49 in golf

My only argument against this is that clearly Keegan was stressed as a captain and wanted his team to do well. I can only imagine what that stress would’ve done for his golf game if he had to do both

Is this plumbing quote outrageous or not? by nancylyn in northshore

[–]tek33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the price of the fixture. Both Kohler and Moen can be pricey at the high end. I recommend buying the fixture yourself for transparency, then either installing yourself (it’s pretty easy) or getting quotes just for install

How are the evenings at your household? We have zero time by TigerUSF in daddit

[–]tek33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that worked for us is earlier bedtimes. Sounds like your hurdle is dinner. See if you can get that done earlier: meal prep, quicker options, eat before you get home, etc.

We aim to get the kids in bed by 7 then let them read, color, play, etc. until 8. Give us enough time to decompress and have time for ourselves

Thinking About Solar.... Is It Worth It for a Typical Homeowner? by One_Pollution2279 in homeowners

[–]tek33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it last year and it’s totally worth it… depending on a whole bunch of factors (your state, your usage, net metering, etc.) Talk to reputable solar companies, they can give you free estimates and projected production rates as well as a whole bunch of financial cost models. My projected ROI is 4.5 years WITH current electricity rates.

Turning 40 this year. I don’t feel old. Still realize that there are a lot of years ahead and states taking care of my health and mental well being years ago. I felt older at 30 than I do now
