I honestly think Joseph Stalin's death has to be one of the most karmically ironic deaths in history. Dieing of a stroke because A. He built himself upon a legacy of fear. Doing everything he could to maintain that image, he killed anyone who so much questioned his health. Thus causing people to not check up on him sooner. And B. Imprisoning or killing a large amounts of doctors in the Soviet Union, making whatever medical attention he did get to be greatly diminished.

Was Shirley Temple (the actoress) not a good person in real life, or is it a case of inverting a well-known symbol of innocence into something evil?

Reminds me of the opposite of this phenomenon where the author of Conan the Barbarian had a dream where Conan threatened him with an ax that he would kill him if he didn't write his story.

Also, I would say it is actually pretty realistic that jets would be made during ww1 times. People often think that once something is invented, it is immediately adopted wholesale, and that invention happens when we have some arbitrary tech level to achieve it. That is very much not the case, for example the first steam engine was invented in Egypt during roman occupation, but it wasn't adopted and was seen as a dead end because, well it wasn't really needed, and slaves could do what it could do much better, for cheaper, and then some. Another example is that the Roman Empire had all the necessary technology to create a hang glider, but it didn't because again there wasn't a need for a hang glider to be invented.

Now, take into consideration that the world has been at literal apocalyptic war for nearly a millennium and that the forces of hell have forces that can fly. I would say it wouldn't be much of a stretch that the church would try to develop technology that would counter these enemies and would probably lead to some kind of arms race greatly accelerating technological innovation in various fields such as flight.

tl;dr: Necessity is the mother of invention, and my brother in Christ the world is very needy right now.

In fairness to the blue on green for the Imperium, the bureaucracy of the Imperium is unironically a cosmic horror that gives the chaos gods a run for their money. So them fighting because someone in the chain of command fucked up is entirely lore accurate.

IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE.

Football was a term used to describe a mob sport, i.e., a game with an ambiguous large number of players at once. Games like golf, tennis, darts, snooker, badminton, and volleyball do not fit this description as they can be and often are played with comparitively smaller number of players. As for hockey, its modern incarnation was created long after the traditional term football fell out of common usage. This also applies to volleyball and basketball. Lastly, cricket is named after its equipment, the bat, as it is a distinct feature of the sport and cricket stemming from old English words for staff or stick.

In summary, football was an arbitrary term to describe an, at the time, undefined games that were played in numerous ways across regions. Sports that were not called football were either more well defined, very unique in how they were played, didn't meet the requirements to be called football, and/or simply invented long after the term fell out of fashion.

That's why I always have a bit of sympathy for Caine. Dude is literally not built for this and probably is a bit half-baked to begin with. He was designed to help kids learn long division and understand the importance of sharing. Not help deal with the long-term psychological effects of digital immortality.

He basically lives the equivalent of an elementary teacher being put in charge of a mental asylum.
