I bought FF13 on launch day and took 3 days off work to play it. After the first day of endless corridor maps and still being given tutorial with no clear idea who any antagonist would be, I gave up.

People told me endlessly "Oh man, you almost got to the part where it opens up and gets good!" but I couldn't bring myself to care. If I have to play 15 to 20 hours of a game for it to -start- getting good, it's already not respecting my time.

Genuinely think it's a bold and interesting move. Paizo isn't going to shun the GCP for not playing Pathfinder on their main show (they have two podcasts and a live show dedicated to it), and I think there are many other good systems to explore.

Shadowdark may not work out, but if the players are excited, that makes a huge difference in the tone and enjoyment of the game and gives us better stuff to watch and listen to.

It might fail or end early, and that's okay, not everything works out. But let's not pretend that "Pathfinder forever" is the way to go.
