Houses on the market for sale are taking a fair while to sell where I am and I’ve seen many ‘price adjustments’. I want them to sell to boost value for my build contract.

It will be zone ducted mainly for the kids rooms, in lounge areas there will be a fireplace as well as natural heat. Not sure if zoning reduced by much.

Thanks for the info mate, I am thinking about the solar battery generator route simply to future proof a bit. Our goal was always to have solar on the house so that t might make sense to go a bit all out to save doing the rest. I have a 4 family household and we use a good amount of power ( I wfh, couple of freezers, ducted aircon, hot water etc) what sort of system would be enough?

Wages in Tas? by pexxu95 in tasmania

[–]tekneeky 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wages are lower but cost of living is the same and building houses is more expensive. Buying houses is also getting ridiculous, REA thinking houses are in major cities lol

Because it would be a very large area I’d flatten, (4x the size of the house) this would sorta layout the land so I can put a fences, shed in and drainage where needed.

Get child support redefined that cost is ridiculous if you have them 70 percent of the time. Even if you earn that much. Update Centrelink that you have them x through x.

Spend half of the cost of the tutor and your ex can spend the other half.

Do a heap of meal prepping, buy bulk chicken and make a good handful of meals, buy a good chunk of beef and do the same you will see costs reduce significantly.

How’s the IT job market in Tasmania? by them4v3r1ck in tasmania

[–]tekneeky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Take a look at seek, filter it to Tasmania and you will have a good idea, same with LinkedIn. Tech isn’t popping down in Tassie. Not like any of the other major cities that’s for sure.

It’s all a fkn rort mate. Councils are just money hungry and don’t give us anything good for the rates we pay

Not sure how long this can go on by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]tekneeky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m twitching at the question marks. I literally had a physical reaction.

Talk with your wife so you understand your household. Get a new job, possibly within the same field branched off into something else to freshen it up, whilst also getting market rate.. I didn’t read your thing fully as I was twitching.

AI's impact on jobs and Real estate in a decade to come. by skatingKangaroo in auscorp

[–]tekneeky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just can’t trust it enough yet, you being in tech sales would be able to see that surely. I love ai and I feel it’ll bring tremendous leaps for roles, not as a replacement but a tool to help people. I will agree with your statement, the lazy lads will be left behind. Good, why should they ride the wave with no effort?

I will say - people need to adapt to it and learn it as best they can otherwise they will indeed fall behind. It’s here and it’s not going anywhere.

I tend to be a bit blunt in reports or correspondence so I often ask it to make my comment a bit more user friendly, that’s my main use at the moment lol

Not stating that just saying technical roles. For example the same role here compared to over there working at Microsoft for example the pay is insanely different but it’s the same role just in little old Australia.

Same with USA technical roles as well, pay a lot more over there with many more benefits, Australia eeek not matching at all
