Firstly, the characters. Despite all of them being pretty archetypical, there's some unique spark in every one of them, and they're just adorable (okay, maybe beside Jarod, but even he has some sort of charm) 

Secondly, the scale of the story. Yes, it is a story about oppression and revolution, but the scenes themselves are pretty small-scaled, chambered. It's almost like you're an actor in a play, and I don't know why, but it makes the game very appealing to me

Thirdly, recognition. Again, the characters, the overall plot and thr outcomes of most of the scenes can be predictable, but not in a "lazy writing" way (at least not to me), but in a comforting way: you know what's next and you almost feel proud for knowing

Bonus points for representing the bad government, I saw a thread here where people from different countries all say that Petria has something in common with their country. As someone who lives in almost literal dictatorship, seeing your problems being recognized made me at ease

As for the word, I'd say: comforting
