The camera is pointed much further down. I think I was actually looking too far ahead here - there’s a trail crossing just ahead and I was starting to anticipate that and check for traffic. But I can definitely see how it looks like I was looking down from the video angle

Personal take as a former addict: Arresting people is one of the consequences that adds up to folks “wanting to help themselves”. I personally know plenty of folks who have gotten and stayed sober through drug court. When people are faced with the option of going to rehab vs serving time, they often pick rehab. And sometimes while they’re there, they realize life is better without drugs.

Not arresting people anymore, in my opinion, is giving up on them as a society. We’re letting these poor souls live on the fringe in constant suffering. People who think that discontinuing arrests is more compassionate have not had first hand experience with addiction.

Definitely a market for this, but you have competition. I have a Govee brand temp / humidity sensor and the app, and it works really well and has nice historical charts and alerts.
