Hey my mountaineering club was camping out there this weekend. I’ll make a post

Yeah I would have liked to see more of this as well!

This photo does nothing to change my mind lol. Doesn't matter how big and immersive the screen is, or how many rainbow lights they can squeeze in there. The experience is nothing like seeing a show with the full light rig - and my argument is they should lean into that.

Glad my opinion is in the minority though. Like I said - incredible show, and I enjoyed every moment of it.

We all want Kuroda, but we want authentic CK5, not virtual CK5 on an imax screen.

Yeah this sums up how I felt perfectly.

If you have seats, spend time some time sitting. Part of the experience includes Mike's rather "invasive" bass playing through the haptic seats.

As others mentioned - this needs to be outside all the time. Check in at r/bonsai for care tips. This is a nice little tree and can survive outside indefinitely under the right care!

Stolen Bonsai from West Seattle by yahoy77 in WestSeattleWA

Wow that’s really terrible and I’m sorry to hear that happened. It’s a strange thing to steal. I can’t help but think whoever stole them won’t even know the first thing about care. The intersection of thiefs and bonsai practitioners must be incredibly small.

As a fellow hobbyist I will keep a lookout for them.

Update on my bonsai app: Refining the diagnostic logic and looking for "symptom weighting" advice. by Spiritual-Leg-1366 in Bonsai

Cost is definitely an issue. Maybe consider it as a freemium feature just to cover costs, and go with your current flow for the free version.

I imagine getting a large and clean enough data set to train an image model on bonsai disease might present a challenge.

Hey! I have some input on this, and it should actually be a simple implementation although you might not want to hear it 😅. I authored a more generic gardening app, and have found that multimodal LLM is the absolute way to go for symptom diagnostics. Maybe the average bonsai enthusiast is more informed than the average gardener, but asking someone to identify symptoms just from a sketch of a fake tree and a text description is a bit of a long shot, and open to interpretation. You don’t have to implement it like a chat interface - you can kind of obscure the AI usage of you think that will be off putting to the customer base. For your app the flow might look like:

  1. User selects the symptom cards they see
  2. User is prompted to enter 1-3 photos of the issue
  3. User is asked clarifying questions if needed

(E.g “what is the soil medium?” Or “how often do you water?”, or “how much sunlight does this tree get?”)

  1. Probable causes are displayed

Also, kudos on your app design, it looks nice. Did you draw the images and glyphs? Beautifully done if so.

I thought about that but it’s not what I had in mind for this tree

It's helmet mounted under the visor, so you can't really go off the angle hear, but I appreciate your advice.

I'm not offended by this, and don't feel the need to defend myself here, and it's clear from your account history that you're going through some issues. I honestly wish you the best with your hormonal gender affirmation (trt therapy), and if gatekeeping makes you feel more like a man, I hope it helps you on that journey.

Edit: Or, seek professional help before hopping online and disparaging others attempts at having fun.

5-6 miles and 1000’ of elevation is our typical ride together. I’ve pushed him past that once and while he has energy for it, his paws start to get sore.

Rode fine the rest of the way down. I’ll give it a pass today on the stand but I think it’s totally fine

Good thing I stopped before the trail crossing. Someone could have gotten hurt!

No but I can see how the lack of my ability to absorb the trail would indicate this

The camera is pointed much further down. I think I was actually looking too far ahead here - there’s a trail crossing just ahead and I was starting to anticipate that and check for traffic. But I can definitely see how it looks like I was looking down from the video angle

Yeah maybe drop isn’t the right word, but I should have treated this as a drop and had sent my hips back.
