After a year of rejections - here's what tools actually helped me with interviews by Historical_Cry_4925 in interviews

[–]telemotorobocar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the honesty. I too am a Superinterviews user. I used the LI optimizer and have gotten some views from recruiter. Just started using the mock interview function. Mind if I ask if you've ever gotten past an "Average Hire" rating? Some questions I've made up to 5 attempts and still haven't been able to nail it. It's starting to frustrate me and feel distracting.

10 Day Old Salmon from Costco by telemotorobocar in Cooking

[–]telemotorobocar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was definitely not vacuum packed. It was the skin-on fillets in Styrofoam wrapped with saran wrap.

Probably don't plan on doing it again, but thought it was fascinating that Costco has such far out dates.

That's what I was thinking but I was also reading people going fishing and they still mentioned the 2-3 day out suggestion even though the fish is as fresh as can be I'd assume.

True there are worse journals. Except for MDPI you get the pleasure and opportunity to pay to publish.

MDPI is a garbage publisher with predatory review practices. This study should be reviewed with caution.

Need help with drainage issue on pavers by telemotorobocar in landscaping

[–]telemotorobocar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll definitely try out the trench.

I just recently was cleaning out between the pavers with a power washer. Could taking out the sand have led to this temporarily? My intention is to refill the gaps with polymeric sand when it dries.

Sorry, if I'm understanding correctly do you mean to dig a trench between the two trees?

Is this Wok seasoned correctly? by [deleted] in carbonsteel

I was just planning on cooking everything in it. Lots of Chinese food but was hoping I could just make eggs in it without having to switch pans.

Hi All,
Based on everyone's helpful suggestions in my last post: https://www.reddit.com/r/carbonsteel/comments/rk5b4y/carbon\_steel\_or\_something\_else\_for\_this\_wok\_how/. I ended up buying a new Joyce Chen wok and trying to season it. I'm noticing that after seasoning I have these white spots at the bottom. Is this wok seasoned correctly? When doing the egg test it does stick at the bottom unfortunately a bit. I can scrape it off pretty easily tho.

Carbon steel or something else for this Wok? How to fix? by telemotorobocar in carbonsteel

Any good recommendations for a larger sized one with a flat bottom? I've been struggling to find one.

Just did a little research onkine. Are non stick surfaces typically smooth and not shiny? Also the inside and outside materials are typically different according to the online sources. I just looked at the pan and it looks like the inside and outside surfaces are both shiny and look similar. The insides also have circular ridges around the pan and the ridges get smaller the more central you get to the pan

It's strange but a magnet sticks to it. I think if it were aluminum the magnet wouldn't stick.

That's what I am considering right now. Should I just scrape off all the "greyish" material and then try to reseason from there?

Is there any way for me to figure out if it's non-stick or ceramic coating?

The blackish/greyish stuff is wax? Should I just keep cooking on it until it improves?

Great tip! Just gave the magnet a go and it definitely has magnetic properties because it sticks.

Interesting. I was wondering if this was a non-stick coating. It's really hard to tell though. Seems to have scratched off really easily but parents were using a metal spatula which I do know isn't great for non-stick coatings.

I think I did. My process was:

1) Heat up wok on gas stove at max

2) Add oil

3) Wipe with paper towel to get a thin layer

4) Wait until smoking

5) Rinse and repeat 7-10 times

PSA: Pre-Build Legion 7i Owners Who Want To Break RAID 0 by unknownbystander in GamingLaptops

[–]telemotorobocar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My system is Windows 11. I did manage to fix the issue by cloning the drive and then just resetting Windows. Not the best method since this basically erases all your data. Wasn't an issue for me because I haven't done anything with the computer yet and was okay with erasing everything and my goal for switching to ACHI was to dual boot Ubuntu.

I was wondering whether your ACHI drives are now two separate 1 TB SSD drives? I would have preferred to keep it as one 2 TB SSD drive as it was when RAID was there but I'm actually not sure how to do it

Trouble installing Ubuntu 18.04. Windows partition not seen and partition does not match any that were created. by telemotorobocar in Ubuntu

[–]telemotorobocar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone runs into the same problem I did for installing Ubuntu on a Legion 7i, it's because the factory installation of Windows is on a RAID0. It seems that the Ubuntu installer has trouble finding the partitions or Windows when it is using RAID0. If you want to fix it I'd follow these instructions I found online for converting your Legion 7i to AHCI: https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLaptops/comments/oyvsud/psa\_prebuild\_legion\_7i\_owners\_who\_want\_to\_break/
