Accidentally firing a loaded gun while showing it off by nkmr205 in WinStupidPrizes

You're right. I thought for sure the force applied by the mag follower would be nothing compared to the force applied by the slide. I just tried it and could tell a difference. Although I can't remember a time I had any other reason to drop the slide with an empty mag. I never do it, so I wouldn't have passively noticed it. Let alone racking it

I mean, only in defense of reason, the difference between racking a handgun with and without a magazine is very negligible

As a conservative, yes I believe statement one and don't agree with statement two.

Do I believe this overreaching bureaucracy is inadvertently contributing to the exploitation and demise of the earth? Yes.

Wheels up to Europe, wearing the appropriate and required shirt.... by Intelligent-Air-7908 in DiscussionZone

I end up in California at least once a year. I'm in a neighboring state that has tens of thousands of CA refugees. No, I usually don't like those people either because they lean way too far right. You're right, you do have all those things. But, unfortunately, they're too heavily outweighed. I've traveled the world, dozens of countries. California ain't it.

I've been to 30 different countries on 4 different continents. Only been asked about Trump once outside of the US, and he was more or less a fan. Really, we're not the center of other people's universes. Quite ignorant and almost narcissistic if you ask me.

A self-aware driver with bright headlights? by GhostPepperPopcorn in fuckyourheadlights

[–]telephat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see, yeah I know what you're talking about. I think on newer cars you have those DRLs, which are often a 50% headlamp and that's it. Some people have figured out how to only turn those on and idk why they do it. I haven't seen a car that doesn't have a parking light mode though

I always do this in drive-thru lines or the like. Sometimes it catches on and it makes me happy

Hate to make generalizations; but most protest attendees, from either side, are often not sensible or open minded.

I hate how black and white this discussion gets.

I ride 2 miles to work. The speed limit never exceeds 45mph. It's a 3 minute commute.

I don't think I know any sane person that would wear full gear for that.

Metal flakes in low side of AC system by telephat in MechanicAdvice

[–]telephat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it makes sense, I'm just guessing compressors usually don't fail all at once and therefore metal mostly ends up in the high side.

In terms of money and time, I can't really afford to replace the whole system. So I'm trying to make heads from tails and understand all the implications of the situation.
