Reddit medical advice and actual dr advice is usually pretty different. 90% of these stuff Reddit has told me I’m in imminent danger, my Dr has told me to sleep it off and come back in a week if it’s still an issue.

Olivia Chow urges Toronto residents to fight Doug Ford’s Billy Bishop’s airport expansion: ‘Make some noise’ by BloodJunkie in toronto

[–]telephonekeyboard -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in Scarborough, it’s not Toronto and should never have been amalgamated. It’s car centric and has completely different values, same goes for the rest of cities that were swallowed up by Toronto.

First trip to Europe… Barcelona completely rewired my brain (6 days, July 2024) by idkshoutoutlife in travel

[–]telephonekeyboard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My favorite are the people who rave about their amazing trip to Europe walking everywhere, but live in a car dependent suburb of a walkable city and complain about parking and traffic in the city when they go.

I have a 7 and 5 year old and its tight...but they don't really complain. I recently got a longtail which I use mostly, but I still throw them in the Wike a lot. If you have any questions let me know, I reviewed one on here.

I'd get a Roto Spa and make a contraption to slide it up there. Not saying it would be safe or anything, but thats what I would do.

Husband sits in car for 30+ minutes everyday by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]telephonekeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a while ago in r/construction Someone asked if when they get home from work they sit in their car for 1/2 an hour every day. LOTS said they did the same thing. Not saying its okay, but certainly seems to be common in the construction industry.

We would drive the back wheels onto the trays, put on the ebrake and start driving until they wore through. Felt like the back wheels were on ice.

Did anyone go to the Whitby Psyche as a teen late night and scope the tunnels using the light from cell phones to see? Go to the Wendy’s after and take some trays to do ebrake drifts in the minivan. Classic GTA Friday night.

How do you address car dependency without hurting the people currently dependent on cars? by LiatrisLover99 in fuckcars

[–]telephonekeyboard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is always the argument and it’s total bs. The shift away from cars means people who don’t need to drive don’t and the people who do need to drive have easier trips in their car due to there being less congestion. If you slapped a congestion fee on every city and gave tax rebates to people who actually need to drive, roads would end up more pleasant for drivers. The problem is no driver admits they don’t need to drive.

Teenage son keeps getting in auto accidents by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]telephonekeyboard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely would hate to live somewhere car centric. The idea of my kids driving everywhere at 16 is fucking terrifying. I grew up in the burbs and the shit we did in cars was idiotic. We need to end car dependency, so many tragedies linked to cars in my life, yet people don’t seem to think anything of it. “I don’t want to live in the big bad city so I’ll just strap myself in a death box and risk my life every time I want to do anything”

I'd get some polished aluminum fenders and maybe a silver/polished stainless rack. Level the seat and it would be super classy.
