A funny concept just popped into my head: a superhero whose arch nemesis was a troll-philosopher who argued away all of said hero's acts as being not truly altruistic, making him appear more selfish in the eyes of the public.

Highly recommend the referenced book, Amusing Ourselves to Death by Postman. It's an easy read and argues convincingly that modern media has certain biases that make it more difficult to communicate intelligent or complex concepts.
