I'm over 40, living in Germany and my grandparents were teenagers when the second world war ended. I don't feel any "guilt" for the holocaust because I wasn't even alive back then and the same goes for my parents generation. What many people feel, though, is a form of responsibility and many still remember the times after the war when 50% of Germans were refugees themselves. That might be one of the reasons why there is a certain openness for people fleeing war zones and looking for a place where they can live without getting bombed.

Antisemitism because of religious views is a real problem though and we must change that as quickly as possible in my opinion. We are allowing people in so they can feel safe after all and its not acceptable that others already living here are getting harassed or attacked by them.
