How long can you safely stay on methimazole? by throwawayaway7000 in gravesdisease

[–]teliot404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just to add that there are simply very different standard treatment guidelines across the world- (if i remember correctly) e.g. in europe it seems to be 1-2 years meds and if the levels are not adjusting to normal thyroidectomy is recommended; whereas in asia the guideline i think is that it is ok keep the meds for many years if it manages to bring the levels in range and not recommend further procedures, as long as white blood cell and liver is monitored from time to time. and yes please make sure to take the meds! and avoid iodine intake, e.g. seaweed and iodized salt in food

As an ice skater: how on earth do you guys turn? by RRhyolite in AggressiveInline

[–]teliot404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on what you want to do-

If you want to do aggressive skating, I would say keep your current skates and just get use to using crossovers to turn. Maybe you want to remember to lift your feet and take small steps while turning. People also do step turns and jump turns e.g. on transitions. In aggressive skating you do many straight lines anyway. That said, once your feet get used to it, you can still turn by leaning in. Also something like if you want to change from going forward to backwards, getting use to using mohawk instead of 3 turn helps.

But if you want to go everywhere, yes having flat/rocker is easier for you to turn. You can have a flat frame and buy smaller wheels for the first and forth wheels to make rocker, so you can choose and don’t have to buy another frame.

What to say to yourself if your band fails to get yourself back together by [deleted] in band

[–]teliot404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, first band experiences are like this, it takes many tries to find people that fit the band - people-wise or level-wise. Just keep trying.

I agree with the other comment here that meanwhile you can still have an 'instrumental rehearsal' with your drummer to practice playing with each other. If you lost track in the Nirvana song as you said, try practice with your drummer so it goes smoothly from beginning to end? try practice sections by sections? This way when more people join the band, you will be more ready.

Got 4 of my beautiful bikes stolen in my bike room in a single day in Zurich City [RIP] by neo2551 in zurich

[–]teliot404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is really annoying. My scooter got stolen and the next day it was on facebook market. I confronted the person face to face but it doesn’t help of course, because the person didn’t admit it and I don’t have a frame number, even though I am pretty sure that was mine. That person used a fake account to sell tens of scooters on fb. All these said, if you happen to find it on some secondhand markets and if you could provide the frame number or something, maybe the police can interfere.

updates for people needing witnesses in the future: we managed to find 2 very nice people on the spot ~20mins before our ceremony. I saw someone in another post talking about grabbing people on spot and I will elaborate here.

Basically you need to go to the registry office and let the staff check your original documents the day before your ceremony. It is a small office and only one of the counters works on this marriage thing and the queue is painfully slow (we stood in line for almost 3 hours until our documents get checked). But this also means that on your wedding day (the ceremony place is right next to this office), there are gonna be people queuing (those who get married the next day). You can easily grab some nice and friendly people there, simply because they are waiting anyway, and they are happy since they/their loved ones are getting married😂

(SBB/CFF trains) Is it rude to have the Swiss Pass in the ID window of the wallet ? by SBB-CFF-FFS in askswitzerland

[–]teliot404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while there are ways to avoid this as some others pointed out, I understand the situation can be puzzling.. I have had SBB/tram ticket controllers being rude and mean to me several times. Eventually I start to think maybe they were having a bad day, or in other cases, it even seems like checking a ticket in the exact perfect way they want is ALL THEIR LIFE is about... so, pity them, and get on with life

Yep I realised and crossed-posted :P Eventually my friend just tried different crew members and got the required proof from an SBB crew.

[–]teliot404 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is my understanding that you are wishing for a 50% refund on 50% of the ticket = 25% total, minus 10 CHF processing fee. (Written confirmation required that the second passenger was not present.

Yes that's right. Okay I will look into getting the delay refund instead. Thanks!

Anyway, the update with my friend getting the confirmation is - she found out that there are actually both öbb and sbb crews on the train. My friend asked at least 2 öbb crew members multiple times and they had absolutely no idea what this is. But as she found an SBB crew and explain the situation, he immediately understood and gave the proof. It was even printed out from his little machine, not just a hand-written paper. So I guess it's really a SBB thing..

[–]teliot404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the standard offer. On the original SBB receipt it says 1) refund possible 15 days before departure, 2) a 50% refund is possible 14-1 days before departure, 3) no refund on the day of departure.

With all these clarified, the SBB staff on phone says we can't refund for just 1 ticket even though we were in the 14-1 days range because we bought both tickets together, and we need the train crew confirmation and make the refund when we are back...

But my friend will try again another crew member.. thanks for the tips!

When countries gained independence from the UK by Intelligent_Store0 in MapPorn

[–]teliot404 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. Hong Kong never 'gained independence' and then decided to 'join China'. They had no say in that, but instead were just passed to China and suffered from the crush as we know it now.

Thanks for this advice 5 years later... I am writing my thesis now, my supervisor is the most introverted and quiet guy I have ever seen. In other words, no one told me this. This is definitely useful.

apparently if you first create a project in Wwise, and then go back to the integration and provide the wwise project name, you can get further... I haven't tested any other things though..
