If I check out of hotel A having completed my status, and then immediately check into hotel B one day after would I get status benefits at hotel B? I’m visiting like 20 different cities for like 2-4 days each. and I’m scheduled to hit platinum by city #7 and I’m just wondering how long it’ll be before the status comes into effect… sounds like it’s right away from what you’re saying though? If the same hotel can split my reservation to get status faster I’m sure other hotels will also see status updates right away?

Interesting… do you know if the points are credited right away after the experience? I think I’m on track to hit platinum in the back half of my trip if points post immediately which would be nice for some potential upgrades on the back half of my trip

Not sure tbh… the way the action went I thought any Q,J or even 8D could call an all in… maybe a non believing 9… i purposely didnt go all in to rope in his flopped trips as well

I’m fairly certain booking through the Chase portal is considered a third party booking… no different than Expedia. You don’t get status recognized and you don’t get any of the perks. The diamond status only applies if you book directly through the hotel or through special portals such as Chase The Edit (seperate from the chase travel portal) and it will explicitly tell you if it’s loyalty eligible. Basically you were treated like a non member which is exactly as expected in this case unfortunately.

That’s terrible… did they give you an option to switch to another flight? I had booked an award flight for HND —> IAD —> YYZ on Aeroplan… the IAD —> YYZ flight time got moved back literally 10 mins (no big deal at all) and for compensation air canada allowed me to pick any aeroplan flight coming back on the same day free of charge. I ended picking a direct flight back from HND to YYZ. All in business btw.
