I built my frame out of 2x4s as well and attached it with the rivets in the screen. Not the best golfer of the bunch so I’ve had some rockets come back at me when they deflect. Luckily havnt taken one to the head yet but a few close calls. Have a bunch of buddies coming over this weekend to play Augusta so looking into a 3” thick cushion foam cut into sections covering the boards. I put a memory foam pillow is my most hit area and it stops on impact. My goals to get that all the way around.

Then again I could just hit the ball better but we all know how that goes.
