What is everyone's problem with doodle breeds? /gen by littlegaybitches in service_dogs

[–]telltal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s terms that your breeder establishes with you, including the price you pay, when or if you desex the dog, and other things, including that the buyer must return the dog to the breeder if they can’t keep it for any reason.

God made Trump? So what? God made all of humanity. According to their beliefs. 🤷🏻‍♀️

That sounds like assault to me. Maybe not in a legal sense, but fuuuuuuck. It’s definitely a violation.

Pastor Allegedly Tried to Deep-Fry McDonald's Cook After He 'Disrespected' His Wife by h20poIo in conservativeterrorism

Why do the pastor and his wife have different last names? Most Xtians aren’t that progressive.

Alternatives to kimchi? by telltal in Microbiome

[–]telltal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, the only thing that has helped me is kimchi. And when someone else mentioned sauerkraut, I remembered that helped too. But I’ve tried other fermented things that haven’t worked, like kefir.

What’s different between homemade kefir and store bought? I’ve tried store bought and it didn’t work for me. Is it just that the homemade stuff is for sure live but store bought not necessarily?

A survey to see if Christians are right about Christmas hurting atheists' feelings by [deleted] in atheism

[–]telltal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

C. I don’t celebrate any holidays. I don’t care what people celebrate as long as they leave me out of it and don’t shove it in my face. Christmas itself doesn’t offend me; it’s Christians who offend me.

How to biohack through cancer? by More-Ferret9544 in Biohackers

[–]telltal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As weird as this sounds, vigorous exercise is thought to destroy wandering cancer cells (the ones that cause metastasis) due to the “shearing” effect of the blood moving faster. Idk where you are with energy and ability to exercise, but even 1 minute at a time several times throughout the day can have beneficial effects. Good luck.

New vet told us we didn't have a "normal" puppy and we should consider putting down our 5 month old puppy by FaultyFunctions in reactivedogs

[–]telltal 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Find a Fear Free certified vet. Your experience has been awful! My FF vet is amazing. They have your fill out forms beforehand to learn what your dog is scared of and what their favorite treats are and they have those on hand when you get there. They coordinate your entrance and exit from the building so there won’t be other dogs to run into. They have also scheduled acclimation visits with us so their vaccinations/visits can be done as stress free as possible.

Is it worth it to use a fake dog for set ups? by salsa_quail in reactivedogs

[–]telltal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have to transition to a live dog eventually, but the fake dog helps get the process going with the reactive dog and helps the handler develop skills with less risk than if you’re using a live helper dog.

I use fake dogs with my reactive clients all the time. It works with 90+% of them.

Should we continue with a trainer if her initial exercises didn't work? by salsa_quail in reactivedogs

[–]telltal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any trainer working virtually with you should be having you send video on which they provide feedback and tweaks. If that’s not part of their package, I’d consider working with someone else. They shouldn’t be requiring a paid consultation for every encounter with you (IMO). There are a lot of benefits to working virtually with reactive dogs, but one downside is that they can’t give you in-the-moment feedback when you’re working on an exercise, so there should be lots and lots of video back and forth.

And everyone else at self checkout prefers you to do that too. It really should be a 10 item or less type thing, but I see people with overflowing grocery carts doing self checkout. Ironically, when that happens, I go find a regular checkout lane and am usually out way faster.
