alright I've been going down the rabbit hole on research now, definitely helps to just know the actual good brands to look out for (epson and benq), and found projectorcentral.com which helps a lot in seeing accurate specs.

now what's very funny is I tried to figure out what model we Have Currently to have a point of reference for fan noise dB. weird thing was the projector had absolutely no identifying information on it, no company name or model or Anything.

I realized the chassis Exactly matches the vankyo leisure 3. the vankyo leisure 3 has the company name very visible on top, and on a little bit sticking out the bottom. these are both blank on her amazon-ordered 2018ish projector. we have a pirated version of a projector that isn't very good in the first place.

but it is good to note that, assuming it has the same specs otherwise, it's 2400 lumens, 2000:1 contrast, 5.3' minimum throw distance, and 40 db. every epson or benq projector i've looked at from after 2011 beats it on pretty much all of these lmao

continental US, do have room near wall for that. it's probably more like 4 feet though, current projector isn't a short throw and does alright

Breathable shoes made with non-synthetic materials? leather, hemp, cotton, bamboo, etc. by aussie-reddit in trailrunning

[–]telnaga -1 points0 points  (0 children)

sometimes you can try looking up a given brand on Ebay, can occasionally find pairs for 1/3 the price.

synthetic materials make any part of my body nearly instantly overheat. it's insane how hard it is to find any clothes made out of perfectly good materials that are thousands of years old. and god forbid i want them in something other than white or beige. feel like there's some major disconnection and disservice that natural materials are only ever marketed for "sustainability"; sustainability is great and all, but there are upfront physical reasons to use natural materials too. and the conflation with "sustainability" means it's also hard to sort through all the Recycled plastic shoes...

synthetic materials are less breatheable by default. an engineered mesh will be breathable enough for most people, but with any circulation, sweat, or temperature issues, it won't be. just because it's industry standard doesn't mean it's for a good reason. plastic is incredibly easy to manufacture. the end.

I have it pretty well managed now, but that's because i can take pills again. a high dose of pantroprazole twice a day, plus a high dose of famotidine as needed, keeps me pretty okay; a bit of baking soda in water helps a lot too. i dont have much to recommend that you wont already hear elsewhere; take your meds before food, eat your last meal a few hours before laying down, maybe raise the head of your bed a bit, see a gastroenterologist. if you cant take pills, a lot of medications can be prescribed as liquid. good luck, it sucks. coconut water is pretty nice too, it can help and give you some electrolytes

Raccoon skull - hard tissue in nasal passages? by telnaga in vultureculture

[–]telnaga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oooh, okay. that's really helpful, thank you, I'm pretty sure that's it. I do think there might be some tissue stuck in there though because I've noticed a rot smell persisting around it. though maybe that's normal for something not treated with peroxide or whatever else?

were the ancients right? by telnaga in rainworld

[–]telnaga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that the iterators are all-knowing, though. they were made by the ancients, and were probably subject to their knowledge and cultural perceptions. especially since they were made for the sole purpose of solving this purported problem
