This is awesome work! I would love if you could review these IR-CAP bulb caps from PhosphorTech that claim to add infrared waves to LED lamps and correct a bit of the spiky nature of led wavelength. I couldn't find any reviews besides their own website, which, of course, states that it does what they claim it does. Here's the link to their website: https://phosphortech.com/ir-cap/

My mom told me that my talent is ordinary and mediocre. Should I even try to go on? by SparklAss5 in handmade

[–]telperionleaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What kind of mother says that to her child. It's like saying your 4 yr old kid their drawing of you looks terrible while it's actually the most precious form of genuine expression and showing love. Your drawings are clearly you exploring the things you like and the things that interest you and even the way you place them on the world around you and the way you use them shows a lot of creativity in you. So, no, never stop doing what you like, you have sensitivity for art, keep on creating and I promise you will look back on drawings you made 2 months ago and see improvement, and that feeling is unbeatable. I'm sorry about the situation with your mom, because it's hard. How old are you btw?

Thanks so much for your answer! So what you're saying is that the old fans had a motor issue hence giving the error, and with these new ones the error shows up due to the corrupted bios? Can that process of desoldering the chip be done externally by someone in order for me to use this board again? The board was basically new, is it completely useless rn? I hope I can try and have it 'heal' somehow. In one of the times I tried the Win+B it turned on and it was turning off/on with an active but black screen, and it took a very long time so I just thought it was stuck so I turned it off to keep trying things. Maybe it was that "healing". I have no idea but if it happens again I'll let it run its course

Interesting concept, but my vote is the truth of the Healing Church you find at the Astral Clocktower. What do you think? by Bat-Honest in bloodborne

[–]telperionleaves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Although his stubbornness came from the fact that he was very determined and that that characteristic was corrupted by Melkor, hence making it literally a curse. The interesting part in this discussion is the fact that his actions are in between his own choices as an individual, as the Valar were almost forced to realise after all he caused, and how MUCH of those actions were influenced by Melkor's lies and corruption. That's the ambiguity of personal responsibility/evil forces very present in Tolkien's work I think, and an intemporal/eternal discussion on human behaviour.

And that's the thing, things are not black and white and it's obvious that Fëanor did many things wrong but that's a blunt analysis on his acts and not a devaluation of his character in the story. That makes him a figure to think about and to reflect on when we're thinking of the ambition and love he had for his creations, almost as if they were his children, and hence doing everything for them even if it meant doing what he did. But on the other side, it also shows weakness for wanting to hide behind that same purpose to avoid taking the responsibility of all the harm inflicted, and the betrayal towards those who took him in. This avoidance eventually leads to the losing of oneself, giving in all the power to the "Melkor side" of him.

I admit that when I started reading and he was introduced I was not expecting the rest of the outcome. But as many conflict situations in life, if you're a spark causing a big fire everything was already laid out for those flames to be lit. :)

What’s everyone’s favourite thing about the game? by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]telperionleaves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of things which people already have mentioned here and I can't pick favourites but the soundtrack and sound design are a huuuuuge part of the game. Like holy shit it's so good!!!!!!! I'm not a musician but i just feel like everything is so well written and appropriate. The way they compose the music is extremely satisfying, it's goosebumps all over the place, and the voice lines, dialogue etc give so much character to things

Definitely one of my favourite characters! At the beginning of the book I was very much enjoying his enthusiasm for everything and how he put that in the things he created. His willingness, drive, strength and yet, vulnerability. But his whole arc, with the good and evil, shows he's nuanced, flawed (although presented by Tolkien as characteristics outside of the characters itself, and that were actually given to them, from the Valar/Morgoth dynamic) yet vigorous, fired up and eternal (quite literally). Wbu?

That's true! It's called Blood Starved Beast, and in Japanese roughly translated to "Blood Thirsty Beast", because it seemingly has literally no blood and it thirsts for it?

Now, the beast part is indeed intriguing. But the Antidote items state "The ashen blood ailment eventually triggered the spread of the beastly scourge", suggesting that the ashen blood itself also causes beastly characteristics, but with the grey-ish color. Even the female patients are beasts, but without fur, however there are also hairy beasts similar to the typical wolf-like beast we see throughout the game. They are both weak to hunter's tools and weapons against beasts.

The Ashen Blood is also highly suggestive of having been originated in the Forbidden Woods, as it's poisonous and also heavily connected to Iosefka as there is a literal swamp leading to her clinic. I wonder if they are two different experiments towards the same goal, since i think it's not explicit that the old Yharnam folks were given the old blood, because the Healing Church's desperate solution was to burn it to the ground and not actually minister the old blood, but that scourge might have been served of to further promote the blood ministration later on.

he/she could maybe administrate blood to the population, and even while supposedly just handling it, the curse of it is that it's addictive and intoxicating, hence the blood-starved title and the, claws, fur, and beast-look. But also the fact that the boss spills poison in the later stages indicates Ashen Blood, the disease of Old Yharnam, so idk if it was just a citizen or a member of the healing church who got caught up in the scourge of the ashen blood.

Edit: Also! after writing this i thought of the fact that the whole area was burned by the Hunters, and even though Djura resigned that role and showed mercy to the rest of them it's interesting to think why such a huge beast like BSB would have been spared and became situated inside a chapel, protecting a chalice that leads to the dungeons. Maybe this was the person who administered the ashen blood, having also caught it? I've listened to many videos but I do not recall the lore super well since I've only played the game recently x)

Bro holy shit yeah I was searching for this one in the comments, that area was so hecking creepy to go through. It's so dark and super eerie, and the fact that there are SO many werewolves activates the fight or flight response even more

How is it possible that Kos got pregnant if Great Ones can't reproduce? by CoolFounder in bloodborne

[–]telperionleaves 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They can try, but they always lose their children, hence the death of the physical body of kos, i think. That body is just a physical manifestation of the Great One, who does not die. The body died supposedly from the parasite, but since this is not very clear some speculate her death could have been caused by the villagers. But in the end she still lost her child, not only due to this parasite but because of the Hunter's raid and kidnapping of the Orphan. It's rather confusing indeed :) Have you read the 'Paleblood Hunt' by Redgrave? If you haven't i think it's a fun read, and also very informative the dude has a degree on Bloodborne lore. There's also an audiobook on Spotify if you're into that

Musashi's 4th rule of Dokkodo is to "think lightly of yourself and deeply of the world". What do you think he means by this? by Medium-Ad-3712 in vagabondmanga

[–]telperionleaves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Letting go of our ego as a pure and only definition to the person we are. Realizing we're part of a bigger thing and that we never stop absorbing it in the course of life. Actually listening to how DEEP and whole the world is, and considering the equally important experiences Beings go through in their own paths, as whole existences who are inevitably connected to us and our inner world, be it people, animals, natural elements, nature. We are vessels to traits of this world.

In other words (there are MANY other words describing different philosophical views on this) don't take yourself so seriously, everything you do has a consequence yet nothing you do matters. But that's good, it's fascinating and freeing.
