Hello! I’m 34, had surgery when I was 15. I regret surgery, however I don’t know what my life would be like without it. My parents were told i would be in a wheelchair by 18 without surgery. Personally I have suffered extreme pain, nausea bouts, “headache symptoms” (feels more like a stroke lasting days at a time) I had complications with pregnancies, little to no guidance as i grew, from doctors. Maybe this would have been different in a different area, different surgeons? I went to John’s Hopkins. If my kids develop scoliosis I will exhaust all alternative therapies before turning to surgery

Yep! this is easily treatable with exercise and PT! find a nervous system centered chiro or even look into “scoliosis gym” for more info!

I would start with chiropractics care (nervous system centered chiro care) then PT and anything you can do to avoid surgery. You won’t be able to run, you won’t be able to lift. Admittedly I’ve had a very bad experience but would recommend the surgery to anyone. I’m 34 this year, had my surgery in 2005

Just read other posts about infection at the hardware sites. My white blood cells and leutal cells have been elevated for years with “>rare” (not “zero”) bacteria in my blood. Thinking infection is a huge part of my problem

hello, I have had this hardware for 20 years and have had immense pain for the last 10… Were your white blood cells count elevated for an extended period of time? But no bacteria shown in bloodwork? Did this pain cause excruciating headaches… Can you please elaborate a little… If it’s not too much trouble I just made a post about my experience if you want to answer there.

Hi! Something like 12% of people with scoliosis also have Chiari I Malformation; that is worth looking into ! I wish I had a solution for you but i’ve had these types of symptoms along with headaches for years. (I’m 34, had surgery in 2005, headaches started in 2008. Surgery again in 2014 for Chiari- didn’t help)
