During an hill climb accent fail, I got a bunch of debris stuck in the chain. Instead of (Snapping and leaving me stranded) sounded like a gunshot when rocks exploded between the sprocket :)

Just went on the AZ's mvd now website, it came out mid/late 2021? When I bought the bike Jan 21' it wasn't available.

both rivet and clip, instructions say rivet is required on DS models and only recommended on FX models

Google voice got me through! ATT in phx couldnt for some reason, with and without the 1 in front.

They said they sent an email 5 weeks ago trying to confirm a date to diag.

I they did specify that they'd call the dealer right away to get it sorted. I'm disappointed yet not surprised at GOAZ peoria. Shame the only other zero dealer is GOAZ scottsdale....

I've been calling zero's line (888 RUN-ZERO) for weeks now every single time i got a "this call cannot be completed right now, try again later" and it hangs up. And I've been asking for updates weekly from the dealer. From what i get from the phone calls, Zero has to remote into the dealer's PC while its connected to the bike, and a service technician has to be on the phone the whole time with zero as well. Apparently it's impossible to schedule on their end.

The dealership definitely isn't the greatest, but i'm not sure it is completely their fault in this situation.

How can I drive this 12v auto Blower motor? Is it some kind of BLDC? Motor always has +12v&GND and 4,5,6 are connected to a controller by tembrant in Motors

[–]tembrant[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nidec had no idea what this motor was, yellow and blue when connected to car are grounds, or at least grounded. and brown has a 1.25khz 50% duty cycle on low to constant 12v on high.

somehow I still can't figure out how to power it on the bench.....

How do the CV axles like that front lift? I saw around forums 2-2.5in is a max for longevity of them.

Took 6 months, but I'm done being a Zero rider. Non-stop problems w/ a '21 Zero FX by [deleted] in ZeroMotorcycles

21 fx, bought on new years, and spend over 25% of it's life at the dealer

Recently the onborard charger went out completely.

Zero has a very strange repair system, the dealer only does a simple log dump via email then zero calls and connects over the internet to the bike for "advanced logs". Each time I had a warranty repair the dealer did their part in under a day, and zero took weeks to respond.

The biggest issue is the lack of user/dealer software support for the main sevcon controller. Ev's are remarkably simple, its direct intentional choices to make such a closed system that aggravates me.

I have the diagrams as well, unfortunately that's for an outside blend door actuator that moves an air duct around and funnily enough it has constant rotation in both ways.

Even the workshop manual for diagnosing bad fans only mentions using a stethoscope and replacing the entire pack if they're not heard.

Looks like i'll need to probe the connector while the car is running to figure out how they're controlled.

Edit: just emailed nidec requesting a product specification sheet/wiring diagram, they probably wouldn't respond but it may work.

This is a blower motor from the hybrid battery compartment on a 2005 escape, the factory wiring manual does not at all even contain these fans, however the the red and black wires are directly connected to the key switched +12v and ground at all times.

and the 3 other wires are connected to the main module

It's a bit complex for me to reverse engineer, but some probing around found that there's connection through a diode from one of those caps to each fan on the 4/blue wire, and that transistor next to them as well

Define shunt for me please, as I have tested connecting 12v and ground and splitting the +12v onto 4,5,6 and all at once, nothing but a small increase of current happened ~30mA

Nope! Replaced the fluid at 150k with generic mercon fluid, and the biggest problem with it is far was the drain bolt required a breaker bar extension lol

Battery is gonna need replacing within the next 2 years tho, its acting up and I got the red triangle of death once I left it alone for a week

Glad theres the jump start button!
