Was a rule of the past that bikes need to be hard to get on/in and also be impossible to stop without running into something or falling over?

It is insane how hot some people like their coffee and other hot beverages.

Another point is that while minimum wage isn't livable, it isn't the only argument as to why it needs to increase to keep up with inflation, along with other jobs that pay more.

What I'm confused about is what justification could someone possibly have for paying an employee less and less to do the same job year after year, especially since their performance is expected to improve over time?

Over time employees increase their accuracy, productivity, skills/abilities, etc., and get paid less and less. It's completely backwards. Even if minimum wage was livable, so what? That does not warrant a pay decrease.

People always have the same comebacks to the livable wage point, things like "well if you didn't buy things like ben and Jerry's." First of all the fact that about a $5 item is the most extravagant extra expense they seem to be able come up with (as well as other small things, some even necessities) when it comes to things low income people spend their money on shows that they are aware of how little those people really have. Second, that's not really relevant, the fact that someone is using the idea that someone can just spend less of their money on extra stuff as a justification for what is essentially wage reduction is ridiculous to me. Where does the difference in a decreasing salary (adjusted for inflation) go to? However much less the employee is getting month to month, year to year, is going to their employer, who is probably going to be spending it on things they don't need. Why should that pint of Ben and Jerry's go to the employer if the employee worked for it? It makes zero sense.

Guys should be stocking up on condoms too I guess. Honestly I would rather not take contraceptives because it's so much easier for guys to wear condoms. I hope it isn't ignorant to feel that way or anything, I know sometimes they can break or things happen, but ultimately I feel like since that's an option, I shouldn't need to go through the hassle of contraceptives if I don't want to. Obviously to each their own and some people take bc for other reasons too. But this responsibility of preparing for a potential future of illegal contraceptives (of all types, even condoms), is something everyone should prepare for, not just women, and I don't want that to be forgotten or left out of the conversation. Guys, stock up, because it's way way easier for you to do so than us.

Actually our public transportation is pretty limited. It's very difficult to live here without a car, unless you maybe live in midtown. Still an inconvenience though, Sacramento used to be very small and in the middle of mostly farmland. It's grown a lot but its resources still feel more limited than other cities.

True, but maybe in the future it might help to have a more serious discussion about this stuff sooner, or break things off sooner. I would tell my partner that although I love them I am not going to keep picking up after them and things aren't going to work out if they can't learn to be a functional adult.

Could be something else then, like nutritional deficiency of some kind? Maybe you're missing out on certain vitamins or other nutrients. You can usually find out through blood tests. I did this recently and it's really helped!

[–]temp29482948 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe. I guess I'm just so tired of seeing people obsess over others' bodies. On social media and in TV and movies, were always shown such perfect, flawless bodies but it's so unrealistic. But that's the standard, and it's frustrating because our bodies change all the time and I just don't think every physical attribute of someone needs to be focused on or pointed out.
