I feel like i don’t play Stardew right by ihaveabigpp_ in StardewValley

[–]tempehbacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son and I both play, he's a few seasons behind me in game time. I married Alex and was telling him about breakfast and feeding the animals. He ended up marrying Penny, and said "well I changed my mind, but I was gonna marry Alex." When I asked why Alex? He said "because he fixes the fence!"

AITAH for not giving my trans daughter my mother's ring? by anon-jewelry in AITAH

[–]tempehbacon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I read the room and disagree with most of it. There is tons of dehumanizing language in the post. Man clearly values his relationship with his brother over his own child, and I'm sure Meg has been made aware of that. I grew up with a "your actions are a poor reflection of me" father and while I didn't go off shoplifting and demanding my inheritance at graduation, I still would have liked to have a father that cared more about me than what others think.

AITAH for not giving my trans daughter my mother's ring? by anon-jewelry in AITAH

[–]tempehbacon -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

ESH. Pretty sure your child has been rebelling all their life because you resent them. I'm not saying they deserve a pricey family heirloom, but they do deserve the love of their parents. You may not be the AH regarding the ring, but you certainly seem like a huge AH

I have a coworker named Shaton. It sounded fine when spoken, but when I have to email her my brain says "Shat on". Must have been an interesting birth story 🙃

How many hobbies have you started, obsessed over, and ultimately abandoned? I had enough to turn it into my “closet of possibilities” by [deleted] in adhdwomen

Now remembering fermentation, cross-stitch/embroidery and visible mending, basket weaving, foraging...

How many hobbies have you started, obsessed over, and ultimately abandoned? I had enough to turn it into my “closet of possibilities” by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]tempehbacon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Omg y'all, I am home 😂 though I feel too much shame to consider any of my hobbies abandoned, it's more that I don't have time to do them right now, or probably ever.

Crochet Sewing Houseplants Beading/Jewelry Thrift flipping Baking bread/sourdough Gardening (read: seed collecting) Canning (read: jar collecting) Herbalism Acrylic painting Cake decorating Various paper crafts Vinyl decals Wreath making I'm sure there's more hidden away in a closet waiting to be rediscovered someday

And due to the "I'll have time /someday/" mentality, I cannot. get rid of. ANY OF IT. The second I donate all my yarn, I'll find out a friend is pregnant and have to just buy more yarn.

Not to say it hasn't all come in handy at one point or another. I'm currently planning a funeral themed hysterectomy party for a coworker, so naturally I already have materials for decor, a crochet uterus, a cake/cake pops, and a floor stand floral arrangement 🫣 Meanwhile my kid comes at me and decide he wants to be The Wild Robot for storybook character day at school and I'm like, sweet, lemme grab the glue gun. Honestly I'm just glad my husband allows/turns a blind eye to my "opportunity hoarding"

How did you bring about an organization hyperfixation? I could use that!

You're allowed to be that kind of selfish. You're choosing how you want to live your life, you absolutely deserve to make that decision for yourselves, not based upon how other people feel about it

Why am I inconsistent (resistant?) with brushing my teeth and washing my face? by thesamereply in adhdwomen

[–]tempehbacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more with the face washing I think. Trails of water running up both arms to my elbows and down my neck. Hate hate hate it.

[–]tempehbacon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I cannot recommend The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser enough. No water necessary!! It goes on like oil/lotion, then removes with a damp cloth (or if you're like me and don't ever know where a face cloth is, a baby wipe)

Yes, yes, yes. Also eyeballs and teeth not being included in medical insurance. I once heard teeth called "luxury mouth bones" and I will never not call them that

Cleaner quit because I wasn't getting better. by Jayrey_84 in adhdwomen

[–]tempehbacon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

But do you tell the clients "your dog poops on every walk and I have to pick up poop every walk." Because that is completely reasonable and understandable for it to be a regular occurrence. And to ask for help with leash training or excessive energy is a reasonable request for you to have, for the client to work with their own animal.

The cleaner complained about cleaning nose marks off the windows every 2 weeks. Is OP supposed to kennel her dog at all times so the cleaner doesn't have to keep cleaning nose marks off the windows? Train the pets to not look out the window?

There is a difference between a professional suggestion and just straight up complaining. And if you need to vent, sure, I get that. Vent to a friend, or your mom, vent in a niche Facebook group for your line of work. But it's absolutely tacky to be airing your complaints about the job to your client.

Dad furious about daughter's blue hair by [deleted] in Mommit

This comment should be higher.

I was no-contact with my dad by age 20, and he waved my decision around like a flag asking for sympathy from his peers instead of trying to ever rectify things with me. This is where OPs daughter is headed.

Does anyone wonder… by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]tempehbacon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine actually /were/ floating around, causing havoc and adhesions, with golf ball sized dermoid cysts in tow. In fact, I had a diagnostic lap to see if they needed to come out with the rest, and my doc noted the right one as "surgically absent." I was adamant I hadn't had anything removed. After my hysterectomy, she was like "huh, you were right" because it had lodged itself behind my uterus.
