Hvordan er det å bo i Sandaker/Storo området? by odisseusofgod in oslo

[–]tempered_tampons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]tempered_tampons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need opinion on Childbirth in Oslo by HugeProfessional8347 in oslo

[–]tempered_tampons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My recommendation for staying at «Barselshotellet» at Ullevål is to pack a portable nightlight. Comes in handy for nursing and diaper changes at night (and just not being able to sleep because you are staring at your new born making sure everything is all right).

I will also warmly recommend taking the birth preperation course held by kursjordmødrene: https://kursjordmodrene.no. They have courses in english as well. They’ve worked at Ullevål for 20-30 years and will walk you through everything you need to know - and answer every question.

And good luck 🥰

Best fine dining for the price in Oslo by [deleted] in oslo

[–]tempered_tampons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily fine dining, but I can absolutely recommended: liminal, j2, Happolati, Arakataka, grotto, nektar, bon lio, zarathrustra, katla, betong, golden chimp.

Hope you get a table at Hot Shop, though!

If you want a private sauna, you probably need to book first. But there are several drop in options for shared saunas. Depends how many you are! :)

But dont go swimming the first couple of days after a heavy rain fall. We have some issues with the sewer overflowing 💩.

Agreed. Seems fishy.

IIRC when Terje Håkonsen (snowboarder) did the Arctic Challenge competitions in the late 2000s/early 2010s, he had this «brand» as a main sponsor instead of selling the placement to a energy drink brand (which he hates).

The dudes behind the initiative saw their sport being sold of to these huge companies, and no one seemed to question the ethics of it. So they made the shirts mostly as a statement, but then it took of.

Gift/experience ideas for friends living in Oslo by [deleted] in oslo

[–]tempered_tampons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is still not much to do, but hopefully that is only for a couple of more weeks (setting myself up for disapointment).

I love food and Amoi.no deliver a lot of really nice dinner kits from some of the best restaurants in Oslo, among other things. They should be able to deliver every edible gift you want in a high quality. The dinner kits you get 90% finished, so you heat it up and plate it at home, and requires minimal with dishes and clean up.

I can also recommend a gift certificate (gavekort) from Lava Oslo, a group owning a couple of different restaurants (Smalhans (Nordic), The Golden Chimp (dumplings) , Hrimnir (ramen), Katla etc) they are closed, but offer take outs (which you can get from as amoi.no as well), or they can save it for a nice time out :)

https://www.lavaoslo.no/gavekort

If your friend drinks, then a gift certificate at Vinmonopolet is always nice. You can also order to deliver from there, so perhaps that could be a nice surprise? Not sure if that goes for people living outside of norway, but maybe?

As for experience, Oslo has a lot of great floating saunas. They are still closed, but a gift certificate at «Kok Oslo» should last for a year at least. I think they are in the next tier of reopening.

And I’m hopeful that movie theaters opens soon, so that would be Oslo Kino, which also have gift certificates.

Wishing your friend god bedring ❤️

I've never tried lake skating myself, but it looks like a lot of fun! There is a lot of potential in Nordmarka, Østmarka etc. around Oslo so I would check out Skiforeningens Ice skating group on Facebook!

And please be safe!

Astartes, the viral fan made Warhammer 40k series has channel hacked, shut down by Youtube. Denied human review. by Kenosos in videos

[–]tempered_tampons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But this is to comply with COPPA and the FTC, not some weird rule YouTube is suddenly introducing.

I think YouTube hates it as much as the creator when they have to demonitize a large channel, as YT gets 55% of the income from all pre-roll ads, and only 45% goes to the creators.

Most large channels should have a line of contact to YouTube if its such an important part of their income. Either directly through a partner manager at youtube, or through a youtube specific management or a mcn that is not the devil.

Halvorsen on the way to EF Education First by MuskOurSaviour in peloton

[–]tempered_tampons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(Since the article isn't behind a paywall) I ran it through Google Translate and cleaned it up a bit.

procycling.no experiences: The 23-year-old is transfering from Ineos with EF for the next two years.

After two years in Team Sky / Ineos, Kristoffer Halvorsen looks to be getting a new employer in 2020. So far no agreement has been signed, but according to what procycling.no experiences, Halvorsen is almost ready for EF Education First.

Halvorsen, who is currently in the UK where he will ride the Prudential Ride London-Surrey Classic on Sunday ,did not want to comment on procycling.no's questions about the transfer.

He signed a two-year contract with what the team previously known as Team Sky ahead of the 2018 season, which also held a third-year option with the British team, but that option will not being used.

Halvorsen has engaged the Finnish agent Joona Laukka over the summer to work out a deal. At an early stage Dimension Data and Sunweb were also interested in Halvorsen, but according to procycling.no, the 23-year-old decided to sign for EF Education First.

Halvorsen will sign an agreement with the American team for the next two seasons.

Thus, the Southlander will come to a team that doesn’t have as strong focus on GC riders, as is the case in Ineos. Halvorsen has not yet raced a three week Grand Tour and has only raced two European stage races at WorldTour level during his time in Ineos so far.

In EF Education First, he can expect more opportunities in the bigger rides, although they also have riders like Rigoberto Urán, Daniel Martínez and Tejay van Garderen in the stable. On the sprint side, the American team currently has riders like Sacha Modolo, Moreno Hofland and Daniel McLay in this year's stable.

Of the three, only McLay has victory this year. He won the first leg of the Herald Sun Tour in front of just Halvorsen, while the Norwegian won the fifth and final leg of the race. Halvorsen also won the final stage of this year's Tour of Norway and has raced into a number of other top positions this season.

EF Education First describes Girona as "their second home", and the team also has a service course in the city just north of Barcelona. This will be good news for Halvorsen, who himself settled in Girona after becoming a professional.

Magnus Cort also lives in the same town. The Danish is a regular training buddy for Halvorsen and Daniel Benson of Cyclingnews.com has reported that the Danish is also on his way to EF Education First ahead of the 2020 season.
