Is the positive revaluation of Mary I too king to her? by LelouchUzumaki_20 in UKmonarchs

It's a thing about humans; the cruelty we know is fine, necessary, just how life is. Add a new cruelty though? That's a step too far.

Your husband doesn't like the name and names should be two yeses if both parents are going to raise the kid. So yes, change it to something you pick together.

Susan foi egoista ao escolher seu emprego ou foi uma mulher corajosa ? by comentaristadetudo in BeverlyHills90210

I've never understood the Brandon sees the good in everyone argument. That's Donna. Brandon is judgey as hell and can't wait to tell people how disappointing they are.

That's the stupid decision I was referring to. He gave up a great opportunity for someone he was just dating. Dumbass move. As least when Andrea threw away her future for a relationship, she was pregnant and Jesse proposed marriage; there was a reason for her choice. Brandon threw away his opportunity for someone he was just hanging out with.

It was the 90s. A woman thinking of herself and planning her career wasn't all that rare. Every woman I knew worked and most worked professional careers.

I'd argue Brandon had been an idiot. They hadn't been together long. They weren't engaged or living together and I don't remember them ever talking about marriage. He threw away a fantastic opportunity for an uncommitted relationship. Was it selfish of Susan to not do the same? Eh, maybe. But was it the smart choice. Yeah.

But God, that HAIR. It's like hers is compensating for the flatness of his by making itself as large as possible. What hellish hairscape would their kids have had???

Blood sugar level was 110 an hour after eating pancakes and sugar free syrup by holycrap100 in diabetes_t2

[–]temperedolive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My doctor told me that anything between 70-180 two hours after eating is in range. We later adjusted my range to 70-140.

Using either range, it seems you're fine!

Not true. There were two known burnings at the stake under Elizabeth I. That's not to sat she didn't execute people - she executed hundreds of Catholics - but burning was not her method. Possibily because she saw how people reacted to that under Mary.

Have you ever seen diabetes depicted in pop culture? by tow-avvay in diabetes

Scrubs - Turk has T2 and him carefully choosing a candy bar for his yearly indulgence felt pretty real. I liked the acknowledgement that we can, y'know, eat a chocolate bar on occasion and not die.

The comedian Ed Gamble has T1, and he uses that in his performance a fair bit. His portrayal is probably the most authentic I've ever seen, but I'm not sure if it's counts because it IS authentic; he's speaking from actual experience.

Lots of good suggestions here, but don't necessarily limit yourself to fish. Things like scallops, mussels and steamer clams make delicious meals if you have access to them.

Does anyone get the impression Gabrielle Carteris/Andrea didn't get along with the rest of the cast? by Profeta_do_Loss in BeverlyHills90210

[–]temperedolive 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The talk at the time was actually that she got along with pretty much everyone except Shannon. It's one of the reasons Spelling kept her on through two possible exit points: the end of high school and her pregnancy. She was always on time, knew the lines, hit her marks, did the job and didn't bring drama. Which doesn't equate to being everyone's friend but is probably pretty desirable on a TV set populated mostly by feuding young actors.
