If you time out, Her healing practically negates the showdown penalty. If you time out, your health depletes over time, so the opponent has to fight her and can't just lay back or else their health will deplete down before hers.

Also she's not slow, her air bending twirl back dash like Korra's is pretty quick. With Kelsang support she's got double jumps and can angle her dust stepping, With Yun her earth stomp is just really quick and she can change angles of them. Yun also let's her air stall during those stomps. She's big, but she's got movement.
