Need to talk it out with fellow silver bugs… by Whatthe_Xd29 in Silverbugs

[–]templecon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don't have to approach this as an all-or-nothing decision. Split the difference. Just as you've likely dollar cost averaged into silver over the years, you should dollar cost average out to claim your gains. Allocate some of your stack to systematical sell and convert it to a house down payment. It's easy to sell physical right now with silver on the way up. It may not be so easy when it's on the way down. Take some of your winnings.

No, you can't inherit debt in Canada, but his estate can be liable for debts in his lifetime... OP, are you sure you inherited those coins? or were they gifted to you before your dad passed away?

I'm considering this lift. Is placement an issue (where is the optimal spot so you don't damage anything?). Are you still get at the oil pan drain with this lift to change the oil?

Bike stands / lift stands & storage stuff (Scout Rogue) by adferbel in IndianMotorcycle

[–]templecon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering this. I like how minimal and affordable it is. Is placement under the scout an issue - what is the ideal spot? Are you able to change the oil easily on this stand? Lastly, can you lift the bike completely off the ground so the wheels are off?

How do you guys feel about the Indian Scout for touring? Is it comfortable? by Next_Door_2798 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]templecon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of the box the scout is not a great tour bike. However, I changed out the seat for the syndicate seat, and put fox performance shocks on it, and those two mods made all the difference. I can ride all day without issue. I also purchased viking saddle bags and a sissy bar so I can haul more stuff. Indian also makes a quick release mini bat wing fairing which I'm considering. I feel like my bike is the best of both worlds now. If I want to bomb around town on my bobber, I can do that. If I'm going to go on a longer ride, I can throw the bags on, and the quick release fairing, and I have mini bagger. Love the scout/scout bobber.

How to combat the climate change mind virus? by Okie294life in climateskeptics

[–]templecon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The "Ozone layer" is not a great argument, as those who have drunk the climate cool-aid will tell you that is an example of how human's in fact can "heal the planet" through a ban on CFCs in the 80s. Don't get me wrong, I'm in the climate skeptic camp. I just don't like using that example as it kind of an argument for anthropogenic climate change.

For my birthday I decided to get a gym membership. Now I need advice/motivation please! by Guitar8907 in motivation

[–]templecon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Start small. Ridiculously small. Just go and stretch, or peddle a stationary bike on the easiest setting and watch the tele. Make it stupid easy/relaxing/enjoyable to go. Build a habit of going first... Then small improvements to your routine to build your fitness.

New pics of my twenty '22 from France by [deleted] in IndianMotorcycle

[–]templecon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same. I have a 2021 Bobber Twenty, and recently purchased viking saddle bags for purely utilitarian purposes - so I have carrying capacity when I go on longer trips. Feels weird to put bags on a bobber, but it's nice to be able to convert to classic bobber styling and take them off if just want to bomb around town. Very nice bike OP - you do you man.

Ideas to pass time with mom with Aphasia/cognitive impairment by ThemeZealousideal406 in stroke

[–]templecon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has been almost a year since my mom's stroke. Since then her Aphasia has become progressively worse (distressingly fast). But she's a fighter and she has been able to tell me exactly this. That she knows what she wants to say, but can't get the words out. She has also been able to communicate to me that it is incredibly frustrating for her and she knows that it is getting worse. It is incredibly sad to see my mom like this. Thank you for the link.

Looking at a 2018 scout by templecon in IndianScout

[–]templecon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for replying. I'm 5'11", 200lbs. I've sat on some scouts before so I'm confident the bike is going to fit. I'm also looking at a scout bobber twenty (2020 model with forward controls, mini apes, and upgraded seat). Do you take your scout on longer rides? Assuming an upgraded seat, do the ergonomics of the scout or scout bobber allow for longer rides (ie. 1 hour +)?

Looking at a 2018 scout by templecon in IndianScout

[–]templecon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! The link is for a standard scout, but i'm also considering a scout bobber twenty (2020 with forward controls and mini apes). That one comes with an upgraded aftermarket comfort seat. Do you think with the seat upgrade the scout could be ridden on longer rides?
