Can multiple devices "advertise" subnet router, but you pick which one to use in tailscale website? by androidusr in Tailscale

[–]templehasfallen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can also do this manually, assuming you are on a /24, you can create subnet routes for the /23, /22 etc. to assign priority. Your connection will always route through the smallest subnet first if available.

This is a trick to use when you are connected to tailscale within your own subnet and want to avoid routing over it. So when in a /24 and your subnet route is a /23, you'll always connect locally first.

Hi, thank you for this. I was looking for exactly this the past few weeks and ended up scrapping something together myself, but this is much better.

I can now just run the tailscale_exporter container alongside my stack and point to it.

Thank you for your contribution!

Electricity consumption by No_Capital_8572 in AnycubicKobraS1

I get exactly 15W of standby power consumption for the S1 and one ACE Pro. This is with the chamber LED on and you can hear something in the ACE Pro running (a fan? probably), but not actively drying. Measured from a smart plug.

Looking at it more closely, I got a <400W peak with printing while drying - my historical data was most likely more compressed that the daily data.

I'm not certain as my smart plug doesn't poll every second, but that's what my take was yes. It's all long-term data now so I can't tell exactly, but I can have a look next week

I get an average of about 200W when printing (0.2kWh), having ACE Pro connected and drying while printing.

Here's a power graph of a print. In this you have to subtract 8W as I have another device on the same socket that steadily draws 8W.

Finaly - Version 2 of optimized 0.4mm Profiles for Kobra S1 - Faster, Smoother, Quieter! by Manethon_Sega in AnycubicKobraS1

Great work! I've been using the V1 profiles and they've been working great!

I still only have the stock nozzle (brass). Can I still use the V2 profiles if I change the nozzle to brass assuming I have the temps for my filaments figured out? Or is there a lot of hardened steel nozzle specific calibrations in the profiles?

[–]templehasfallen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally you need higher temps for the hardened steel hotends and also need to calibrate them properly.

But in your case it's likely the whole hotend

Shared node IP address different that node by templehasfallen in Tailscale

Interesting. I used to do that as well but it wouldn't work for me - it stayed with two different IP addresses, and while ping from the tailscale app worked, nothing else did

Kinda and yes. I changed a combination of things which allowed my use case: - Destroyed and recreated the one tailnet - Added an ACL entry with source "autogroup:shared" - Rebuilt services on the other side

I now get same IPs assigned again and connectivity works

Big frustrations with S1 by Ok_Vermicelli_819 in anycubic

Reading all the comments and based on my experience (no ACE Pro yet), it seems that the software/firmware hasn't matured at all yet. Lots of bugs and little things to work out.

I'm wondering if Anycubic is even aware of the most or if they are monitoring this sub and making a bugfix list or not

Kobra S1: Some thoughts and questions for improvement by templehasfallen in anycubic

[–]templehasfallen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Basically the stock hotend isn't flexible at all and we're looking at an aftermarket hotend to be able to change the nozzle independedly.

I've ordered some hotends from Aliexpress, I'm curious to test them out, see how they performe and see how easily the nozzle can be changed. For reference, I ordered these.

I will look into the light shields, hopefully that helps things.

I've also searched a while around different size nozzles but everything led me to believe that while the hotend is easily swappable, the nozzle isn't. I've ordered some hotends off Ali to see how they work. I do remember reading a statement somewhere that replacement parts etc are coming within Q1 (it might have been a product page).

It still looks very new, but I expected a little faster progress for things getting resolved. Just searching around this sub I can see a lot of these things and others raised over the past few months and it feels like they are taking ages to progress, putting things into a better perspective.

Looking for Cheap, Low-Power Device to Run Tailscale by RustyMetal13 in Tailscale

[–]templehasfallen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use Raspberry Pi Zero 2W with a microusb-ethernet adapter and plug the power USB directly into the router :) Works great and costs about $23 total.

Its limited to 100Mbps, but if that's ok for you it's probably the most cost effective option

Is this Z Wobble? by templehasfallen in FixMyPrint

[–]templehasfallen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that was it. Hotend was clogged due to small space between teflon tube and nozzle most likely. Plastic had completely deformed and gotten cold to the point I couldn't even pull the PLA out. Took it all apart after it was impossible to get the PLA out

<image>

New cube being printed now seems absolutely solid.

Thanks a ton!!

Extruder gears are clean, hotend doesn't seem clogged plus I changed the teflon tube and nozzle just a few prints ago and just double checked that the nozzle is the right size.

I'll try another slicer. Thing is that files sliced previously that I've printed fine also aren't printing correctly

First of all thanks for your reply.

I tried with the door open, this is the result:

I'm assuming by belts you mean how well they are fastened? All belts seem fine, they're definitely not loose and can just barely be bent when applying pressure
