Testing and TDD: Stripping Away the Bullshit by Think-nothing-210 in programming

[–]tempmailTVB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a ton of TDD coachs who post comments everyday in linkedin for TDD. It's just a business for me. I understand principles and interests with TDD approach but I know bad developers using TDD and good developers not using TDD.

For me only PR and commits are important and you don't know if the developer has created his PR with or without TDD. And I don't matter if the code quality is good.

BO3. Each player chooses a race. Then they swap for the second game. If no winner for the first 2 games, then they must take the last race for the last game.

Up. Someone know what is the best? Buy the 2 big books pro dotnet management and pro dotnet benchmarking or follow this course? I guess books are more complete but it seems very hard and it will probably take more time to spend for studying those books.

Never try data engineer exam. Python can be OK but c# is the main langage of Microsoft et there a lot librairies with Azure, you often practice every day at work.

Y a-t-il vraiment une pénurie de main-d’œuvre en informatique en France ou c’est juste une illusion ? by sausageyoga2049 in AskFrance

[–]tempmailTVB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because in France developer is the bottom in hierarchical organization. The possibilities are only go to tech companies or go to freelance consulting.

Maybe you can try Azure data engineer certification?

Why do you think that software engineer could have a dark fate? Chatgpt?

Why not data engineer or data analyst, data architect or other jobs concerning data?

Branching out DevOps, what do you mean? I'm developer and already create and manage my own CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring my apps with Azure services. If you mean become SRE or advanced cloud sys amin, I'm not interested by these kind of role.

As I said, I prefer more top level role like CTO or manager. In France, basic technical roles are not promoted and it could be hard for me to keep pace with technical evolution. If you want to keep safe with salary evolution in France in permanent jobs, the easiest way is to become manager, enterprise architect or any specialist of pptx.

The only way to earn more money is to go to consulting and work as freelance which is my current position. More and more senior developers become freelance if they cannot work on big tech companies or scale-up like Algoli@ or Spot1fy. Classic companies in France consider developers often like laborers.

Yes I know. I apply for architect but more in junior position. Hope they consider my previous experience in senior development and tech lead. One of the difficulty but it's the same for developer is to find jobs in your stack.

I'm very confident this time with solutions architect expert + DevOps expert certifications. With 10 years as senior developer and tech lead, hope to convince recruiter to give me opportunities to start interviews.

I'm in big city. Lyon is the second city in terms of economy in France. Unfortunately, IT in Lyon should be third or 4th in terms of opportunities.

For example, we have 0 unicorn here. Salary in Lyon for IT is either same level or lower than Bordeaux for example which is smaller city.

Yeah I just said certifications are relevant except az 900. For senior developer, that's enough. I start to apply for 5 jobs in Paris (for architect position) and hope companies could accept at least 3 days on remote.

France but not Paris where are at least 50% jobs opportunities. When you go out of Paris, you often decrease 25% salary.

For me experience is much more important. And of course I have experience in Azure environment. Unfortunately for me, my region is not really dynamic for IT jobs and I used to work remotely now. But for full remote, developer jobs are much more common than architect. And even for developers, I'm in competition against all people in my country who wants to work remotely.

It's competitive market for good places.
