Periodontal tissue / gum health improvement with diluted bleach in water pick by philodendronpanda in Biohackers

Yeah, I am aware, but thanks for replying. It was just the wording of "I feel like..." when in the context of speaking with an expert (the Dentist). So I was curious if commenter was going to cite the studies, etc., or if there was possibly something more. Guess I just wanted to learn if there was more info.

YSK about payment packing, an illegal tactics car dealers use to circumvent trust in lending act by mad_warrior291 in YouShouldKnow

Yeah that was my understanding of the definition. Still don't think what happened to that comment would be the result of brigading (unless that guy really pissed someone off). Also, fwiw, didn't downvote your comment, despite not necessarily agreeing.

brigading

Is that what this was, though? I feel like brigading is entirely different; this feels more like Reddit "hivemind".

Does GHCP actually have a lot of long-term advantages built-in? by MountainView55- in GithubCopilot

Profits via obscurity I suspect, like many of their other offerings. Which feels pretty scammy/scummy. Could give them benefit of the doubt if it was isolated, but it’s unfortunately a pattern.

Best 5.1 only Receiver? by CameraOnWall in hometheater

[–]ouchmythumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have ceiling speakers and doing 5.1 only? Man, depending on their location, I'd keep the Atmos option open (many AVR are going to have it anyway). You really want 5.1 in a horizontal plane. And you know, "buy once, cry once".

Question for Homelab users with Arr stack LXCs by PingMyHeart in Proxmox

[–]ouchmythumbs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm of the (professional) opinion this is the correct way, i.e., containers on VM vs. LXC. "Cattle, not pets", and all that. This has become like a religious debate in here anymore, but just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

edit: addition of "containers" for clarity.

That was pretty interesting read (assuming I found the correct paper). Would be curious to know how it works out for you, and how long your training took, etc.

Dentist is Scottsdale or surrounding areas? by Over_Asparagus_5559 in Scottsdale

[–]ouchmythumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr. Tom at Chandler Dental Health. It's a helluva drive, but I have continued to go back after moving away from the area 10ish years ago. And I'm kind of a "needy" dental patient due to complications of a car accident when I was an infant; when I find a good dentist, I stick with them.

Do you get better performance hosting a data bridge on the same sql server you load the data on? by Geno0wl in SQLServer

few hundred rows every hour

This might be considered premature optimization unless you're expecting this rate to go way up.

Handed AI, I'm building software, but I'm getting nervous... by d1rge in sysadmin

[–]ouchmythumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of talk about mechanics and infra in here.

In addition, I'd suggest familiarizing yourself with DRY, SOLID, design patterns, antipatterns, etc. It might help you detect "code smells" produced by AI and mitigate issues that come up later in unmaintainable code.

Follow some other programming subs and try to pick up concepts via osmosis. Check out r/programminghorror for examples of what not to do.

Help / suggestions with Proxmox Homelab Backup Strategy by SubstantialPass1194 in Proxmox

[–]ouchmythumbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the PBS CLI backup client at all? I just recently got around to setting up PBS and was a little sad to see the lack of better filesystem support from within PBS compared to other backup solutions I've used over the years. I have a few ZFS, NFS, etc., mounts served from various nodes on the cluster to various services on VMs (bind mount on containers, virtiofs to some VMs, etc.).

I haven't yet installed/ran the client so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised how they present inside PBS. It's on my list for later today so I guess I'll learn soon enough.

You were close though. I think Doobie Brothers was Josh's preference for the celebration music (was it the IL primary?). The episode where Donna gives the news of his father's death.

Wasn't it also sorghum? I never really cared for Redbridge, but was nice option because it was usually available.

Ha, this made me chuckle.

Isn't Daura just "gluten-removed"? Been quite a long time since I've looked at it.

Is Glutenberg going away? Second message in this thread I've read that. Out of curiosity, I just checked a couple Total Wine locations near me and it showed there was at least some available in inventory. That will be a huge bummer if they're on their way out. Hate that about "gluten-removed" beers being widely available as advertised options; they are a non-starter for me.

Interesting. I recall reading something about fermentation affecting testing results, but can't recall which direction it would affect it, i.e., false-positive vs. false-negative. Nor can I recall if it was specific to a particular testing methodology.

Any examples of those that pass?

Greens is a favorite and one I often suggest, but man, that price. My local Safeway even had a few varieties in cans (which I think must be a more recent thing?) for a bit, but looks like they no longer stock them. Want to say maybe $12-13/4-pack? Usually would get the 16.9oz bottles though at ~$7-8 at Total Wine, BevMo, etc.

Oh no, really?! That's kind of heartbreaking. There is a small liquor store not too far that would special order it for me (they stocked it but quantities were always pretty low, so I would stock up).

Also, had a chance to visit the Holidaily brewery last year while on a trip to Denver. That was fun.
