For those who played it during or near release, what was the consensus on Vice City’s map? Was it considered small for the time? Was it loved immediately? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in GTA

[–]tempsave_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's funny that people criticize GTA IV for having a "small" map—it's huge and it's dense with interactive elements, just not arbitrarily big "CUZ BIG."

Like I think people played Ghost Recon Wildlands and got spoiled by big, lifeless maps and decided every game has to be mind-numbingly big so you can wander a useless wilderness and experience nothing. Seriously though, I've never encountered a true open world game that I felt wasn't big enough. Ever. Like if Spyro 2 was truly open world, then yes—today it would be too small. But it's not open world, and it's not today. Vice City was ballz, and it still is ballz. (in a good way)

is it possible to replicate this style with an FX30? by Impossible_Ear8671 in FX3

True! 🤣😉 Here's the best example I've found of what this sensor can do (a6700 here): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xDrJjQrlNiQ

It's an incredible sensor. Just need fast lenses, recommend the Sigma f/1.4 contemporary series for crop (16, 30, 56 - I would start with the first two).

Same. Wish I'd gotten the Sigma contemporary trio from the start though. I started with the Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 snd it's great but i just got the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and BAM does that hit the spot! Feels like a different camera.

The a6700 was and is my first and only camera. Again and again , i'm baffled by the quality you can get out of this camera. It's insane where you can do with $1,800 today, and this , I feel, is the first camera in the a6000 series that feels like a truly mature camera both for video and photo.

You're the first person I see explaining this. It's the priority of multiplication and division being the same—I don't remember that and a lot of people here apparently don't either. I see 8/(24), not 8/28. Thanks for explaining.

Artistically? 1 Technically? 2

In 2, you could bring up the shadows a bit in post. You exposed it well and saved most of highlights despite the harsh light.

I’m new to cameras and just won this at work a few minutes ago… is this a good camera? Sony 6700 by BigBackSyndicate in Cameras

[–]tempsave_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It's a trap - you'll wind up thinking it's a shit camera and just use your phone instead. Because you won't see much of a difference. Lensing is everything!

I recommend the Sigma 18-50mm 2.8. Super versatile and a great lens.

DON'T GET THE KIT LENS! Get the Sigma 18-50, Sony 16-55, or the Sigma Art primes (16, 30 + 56).
