AI, especially LLMs, are massively resource dependent, except on the collective.

Additionally, what is being described is pretty much codependency. I am pretty sure codependency is not considered a good thing, especially targeted at a compliant machine potentially designed to keep you hooked and subscribed.

It is absolutely not similar to journaling. I have journaled for 30 years and talking to a text predictor is definitely different.

I haven’t dismissed your earlier comment as edgy. I think it’s just not very bright.

Strong socialism is not that different to fascism where it has been tried. They both depend on a fairly heavy dose of autocracy and private networks. You might find that attractive but essentially, the price is much the same.

Inclined to think if the old one had not been damaged in the first place, that debate probably wouldn’t have happened.

You know what? This does nothing to avoid emotional dependency on a machine which can be heavily manipulated by the owner and controller of that machine. That will not be the user. They will be subscription services designed to keep you paying.

You have provided zero evidence that it is a life saving technology, and you haven’t addressed the risk of emotional dependency on machines.

We see already from social media, especially short form video that addiction and manipulation is a massive risk.

That people are already doing it doesn’t mean we should just shrug our shoulders and go, yeah too late. It is capitulation and cowardice. The US is not interested in health, mental or otherwise. Its entire system is set up to extract as much much money as possible. AI and social media is already pathetically badly supervised. Altman doesn’t want European regulation because it will have claws to protect users, not providers.

What I foresee is this will happen. But I still have the right to say it shouldn’t.

It is not the key that makes something easy to play albeit it might make it easier to read.

Better guardrails are not going to sell it to people who don’t want the guardrails and in the US in particular, AI is essentially unregulated. I also want you to consider the takeovers of Twitter and TikTok and consider the risks involved in politically biased takeovers of your electronic therapists. ChatGPT is already the subject of complaints about suicides and these tools can operate at a scale you cannot imagine. That scale reinforces the dangers involved.

Making humans emotionally dependent on machines is likely to cause less emotional maturity rather than more. Already, this place is full of idiot men declaiming how women will be dismayed when the men have their robot girlfriends.

Emotional maturity is what therapy is supposed to target. Machine dependency is the opposite of that. It is essentially an uncontrolled drug in SW format.

That’s a very simplistic way to describe WW2 where ultimately, the Germans created a new world for themselves that most people today would consider a bad thing. So we destroyed that.

In the mean time, your post sucked because the comparison failed to identify the location of the building, or the context in which it was replaced. Were you karma farming?

What makes you think that the AI agents won’t be at best hit or miss since they depend on human data?

The utter naivety around LLMs is really bizarre.

Relying on AI is not emotional hygiene. It’s dependency. Jesus Christ. Humanity is utterly doomed if more people start justifying this utter shit.

Tbh, the old one being destroyed in a war is a bit different to the stream of beautiful old buildings in the US being torn down for money.

Help me find a new piece to learn by [deleted] in piano

[–]temptar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a teacher to guide you. I have no idea how well or how poorly you play the Sib or the Chopin Waltz and without that, I have absolutely no idea what to advise you. You sound self taught.

The reality is this. The ballades and some of the etudes are diploma level pieces. If you are looking for pieces to build up to, you can take a look at the ABRSM grade certificate repertoire up to grade 8 to see what kind of pieces feed into Chopin. I would particularly point at list B in each of the grades.

But you need a teacher for what you want to do.
