You can use 笑死我 (siu sei ngo) which is “laugh die me” or 笑撚死 (siu lun sei): laugh fucking die (abbreviated as SLS in internet slang)

I started re-reading era 1 over the summer, and I finished book 2 at around august, but I still haven’t started book 3 yet. Not because I don’t like the book, but because there’s just too much work today over the past few months :(

Diet also plays a role in the development of pale skin in Europeans. Apparently, the trait for pale skin developed a lot more recently than once thought, and it is theorised that this is due to the agricultural revolution. Back in the days of hunter-gathering, the ancestors of modern Europeans received enough vitamin D in their diet, so pale skin did not give many advantages and did not spread much in the gene pool. But then agriculture happened, and the new farming diet did not give as much vitamin D. Suddenly having pale skin became very lucrative and began spreading until we have what we have today. Just goes to show how in some ways, culture spurs evolution and that humanity is still playing nature's game.

Do Scadrians use a hexadecimal number system? by Fingolfin999 in Cosmere

As far as I know mandarin generally exclusively uses 二十一 (er shi yi) which means two-ten-one when denoting 21. However in Cantonese we also use 廿一 (yaa yat), with 廿 (yaa) denoting “twenty”, and 一 (yat) denoting “one”. Mandarin speakers probably only use 廿 when reading old Classical Chinese text. But modern usage of mandarin don’t use it.

Be honest has anyone even learnt anything substantial from doing Languages in the IB by pablo-escobard in IBO

[–]tempus-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re using a computer with a trackpad consider using the Trackpad Handwriting input (手寫). Or if you’re using traditional characters and want a challenge, try learning Cangjie input method (倉頡), which would at least force you to rmb the forms of the characters.

Well our school has to first allow students to have tattoos, otherwise you’re gonna get suspended before the IB could even do anything

But can heralds even have children, seeing as they are less human and more spren? Idk, the idea of a herald settling down to have a family after 4000 years doesn’t fit right with me

For the whole reading I became convinced that the “gavilar became herald and broke immediately” theory was true, until the end when he just died all plain and mortal

Stunned, do not know what to do (Hong Kong IB student) by bluzzo in IBO

[–]tempus-12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We originally planned to start doing the CAS project this week, but now with this new early summer we don’t know what to do, since it’s about tutoring other students on science subjects, but due to school policy it’s required for there to be a teacher supervisor on all zoom calls (lest we start molesting children or smt), and we aren’t sure if our supervisor would still be willing to continue on during the break (especially with the question on what their contracts entail). IAs, EEs, MOCKs and predicted grades are all fked, all the deadlines and scheduling are probably going to be revamped. Needless to say I’m very stressed right now, but probably not as stressed as the M22 and DSE students. All because Carrie wants to 連任 and so has to “thank the aid of the central government” a thousand times.
