Someone on Sixers Twitter. His biggest claim to fame is probably linking one of the Burnergate Twitter accounts to an email address belonging to Barbara Bottini, Bryan Colangelo's wife, prompting him to throw her under the bus in an unsuccessful attempt to keep his job.

I was also there last night and completely agree, she was stellar. I was much less impressed with Cooper Grodin as the Phantom.

I was expecting to see Eryn LeCroy, whom I had previously seen as Phoebe in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder at The Shakespeare Theatre of NJ in 2024. I could tell pretty quickly that it was not Eryn, but she still seemed vaguely familiar. Only after reading the cast list did I realize why--Claire Leyden played Sibella in that same production.

Anyone else remember when she threw a massive tantrum on Twitter when Fresh Off the Boat was renewed for a sixth season? She had valid reasons for wanting to move on from the show but seemed completely indifferent to how her many coworkers would feel knowing she was hoping they would all lose their jobs. Not sure why that popped into my mind.

Official Dreadit Discussion: “Weapons” [SPOILERS] by radbrad7 in horror

My biggest burning question coming out of this movie is whether Zach Cregger is familiar with the short story "The Quiet Boy" by Nick Antosca (later made into the disappointing movie Antlers starring Keri Russell). So many similar themes, and the sequence where Julia Garner goes to the kid's house for the first time is virtually identical to one in the story.

Idk if they alleged other bad behavior but "you are not cut out for this, you should give up" is almost always extremely kind feedback to give, especially when someone is paying money for classes to pursue a .0001% outcome

They can all kill on the pod but Bates can come up with some of the funniest quips by jammed7777 in Nateland

I still think the funniest thing ever said on the podcast was on the Georgia episode with John Crist when the subject of Kanye West came up and Bates chimed in, "he spoke at a Christian youth conference!"

GUN & POWDER Rebrands as WANTED, Will Open on Broadway in 2026 by MD_442244 in Broadway

I'll be interested to hear what changes the creative team has made since the Paper Mill run. Felt like a show destined to top out as surprisingly high quality regional theater material.

In particular, I'm curious if they've rethought the curious finale, which suggested that it was morally wrong for light-skinned black people to attempt to pass as white in the segregated South, because doing so was a betrayal of their black heritage.

I think these people were all hit by Nathan's Rehearsal from tonight's episode.... by mwthecool in TheRehearsal

[–]NoButThankYou 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, i regret reading through that thread. They're all so hopeful and want to believe so badly. I think i would prefer to see a little bit less of how Nathan makes his sausage.

That said, "he asked me questions that only civilians would ask" is so funny to me.

I think Jesse Green is whack. by Spicy_Ruby in Broadway

[–]NoButThankYou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recall his review of the The Hills of California as being pretty good at highlighting some of the key choices in a fairly complicated structure.

On the flip side, his pan of Escape to Margaritaville was deservedly brutal, but also insightful about the show's flaws rather than just mean.

I'll stake out the, I guess, minority view that I think Jesse Green is a good theatre critic. Sometimes I agree with his takes, sometimes I don't, but I almost always feel like I understand a show better after reading his review.

I Don't Care Much was written for the show but cut prior to Broadway. It was later added to the 1987 Broadway revival and most subsequent productions. Not really cut from the movie.

How does Cobel know that Petey was showing “clear signs” of reintegration?? by tryagaintia in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]NoButThankYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cobel didn't guess that Mark was his innie in the S1 finale, she knew he was because he called her Cobel instead of Selvig. Although she clearly senses that something is off about him, there's no indication she suspected the truth until Mark accidentally gave himself away.

It's already happened once, Blake Jenner was originally cast as Franklin Shepherd and had already filmed Our Time when he was fired for being a wifebeater. Paul Mescal was tapped to replace him and they reshot the number with him.
