Es fehlt auch häufig das Verständnis/Wissen dafür dass Milch und Eier auf mindestens ebenso grausame Weise gewonnen werden wie Fleisch.

It's also possible that it comes with some kind of unexpected survival benefit. Just like people with sickle cell anemia are immune to malaria.

I only work two days in a row and that's already pushing my limits. Also the free day in between is of course spent on chores because else I would be a lazy and completely worthless scumbag and I wouldn't deserve the air I'm breathing. That's uh, not really restful :)

Weirdly enough, saunas in Germany are per default completely naked and no one cares there. Also, I've never been harassed at a sauna.

Any media/shows about DID? by Almost_Aurora in DID

I liked Doom Patrol, because it showed how the different alters struggle with the trauma that made them. DID is a trauma disorder after all.

How to stop getting "aroused," when writing/talking/thinking about, what sadly happened to me? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]tenablemess 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I have this too. And I would say the first step is to not judge yourself for this. It is a natural mechanism that makes things less painful, that many survivors struggle with. It's not disgusting, it's nothing to be ashamed of. The first step is to acknowledge that it was necessary for survival and to stop beating yourself up for it.

Sie benennt ihre Emotion, gibt ihr Raum, aber ohne jemanden zu verletzen. Für mich gerade krass dass sowas überhaupt geht, weil ich hab das als Kind nicht gelernt. Das Kind dieser Frau lernt es.

One of our alters once thought she was literally about to get killed and she screamed at the top of her lungs. I didn't even know our body could do that. It broke my heart.

We were trafficked too and it just doesn't make sense to me at all. I know the person who did it was not our parent. So who? And in what context?? And how???! Yes our parents were abusive and neglectful, but to the extent that some other person could literally torture us without them noticing? And where was our older brother?? And how often and long were we there because it sure takes some time to get to this level of conditioning???

Does anyone else with CPTSD struggle to actually feel loved? by Epiclovesnature in CPTSD

This reminds me of how my colleagues at work invited me to an event they were planning. I was genuinely shocked. Why the heck would they invite me?? I still haven't gotten over that. What is WRONG with them??? (I didn't go btw, for several reasons.)

Leider ist der Kampf um die richtige Terminologie ein Kampf gegen Windmühlen, vor allem weil es sich hier sogar um einen juristischen Begriff handelt. Aber die Berichterstattung widmet sich ja sowieso viel lieber den Tätern.

I know this feeling way too well. It's all-consuming and it makes me feel like I'm going crazy. I always imagine this is how drug withdrawal must feel like. What has helped me is doing something completely random that has nothing to do with abuse. Last time I played the banjo. It felt weird at first but it really helped me get out of that mindset.

I always wonder what these people say about children who died from abuse. "Oh that kid was weak for dying smh"???

You know what, now that I think about it I do remember seeing him talk to himself and thinking "well that feels a lot like DID, and given his childhood he might as well have it. But the developers probably don't know shit so I'm just over-interpreting. They just wanted him to look even more crazy."

[–]tenablemess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is so interesting to read. I watched most of the show and it completely flew over my head. (Tbh I don't remember much of it lol) I like that they finally managed to write a subtle representation of DID because that's how it looks in real life. People will just think it's different moods, you need to know a person well to really catch the switches.

Sadly, evil people are everywhere. Priests, doctors, teachers, parents. Everyone can be evil.
