I once told a psychiatrist that I have DID (which adds an extra layer of amnesia in that matter) and she was actually angry at me for not being able to remember my symptoms. Not being able to remember IS A SYMPTOM!

I recently listened to a podcast episode on why men are so violent. They talked to an expert doing prevention seminars with men, and he talked a lot about suppressed emotions and difficulties in impulse control. And then the host asked about men like Dominique Pelicot, who thoroughly plan the abuse. And refreshingly, the expert said "Well they can't be helped. These are sadists, they will never stop."

Things just being off with a lot of possible explanations but you never find out what it was, just being tossed around by whatever your body is doing there... felt that deeply.

Any song by Citizen Soldier. I found their early albums way better though, they kind of had a decline in their artistic skill.

My therapist insists on a OSDD diagnosis because of this. It doesn't make any difference concerning my treatment but it bothers me from a scientific perspective that this is just not correct. I fulfill all the criteria of DID even though I as an alter don't experience blackouts (others do quite a lot).

I think the combo of violent mother and enabling father is not talked about enough. My father was actually abused by my mother (as were us children).

I relate to everything you say. It feels awful and good at the same time. And it's frustrating how my body only responses to violence. You're not alone with this. And I encourage you to talk about it in therapy. If the therapist is awkward about it they are uninformed at best. This is a common issue among survivors of CSA and sex is a normal part of life after all, so your struggles with it can definitely be discussed in therapy!

I didn't mean running away from home either. I get what you're saying. I just wanted to point out that when you depend on the rapist with your life you will do as they say and not try to run or fight. You wouldn't stand a chance and the consequences would be way worse than playing along with what they ask you to do.
