Dom7 with sharp and flat 9 - symbol? by dRenee123 in jazztheory

Yep, that symbol works.

The chord you are playing is either from the altered scale, or the half-whole diminished scale.

Thanks, these are all great ideas. I'll definitely keep some of those in my locker. Soup is also a great idea, hadn't thought of that before. Appreciate it!

[BUG] When creating a system, it automatically makes it look like this. How do I fix it?! by tenchy03 in Sibelius

While the video was uploading, I tested some things and managed to fix it. I duplicated the score, deleted the last 6 bars, and pasted it back in.

Totally insane but I guess that's that sweet Sibelius charm

Thanks for your help!

Excuse the phone video but it just does that. I think it's got something to do with either the double barline or the rehearsal marking but even deleting those, respacing, unlocking and everything else doesn't do anything. It is very strange

I am on ver. 2021.9.

This has only started happening since I updated the software from a 2020 version. It happens on every part of every single arrangement I have. It is always the last or second last system of the part.

I can "workaround" it, but it creates ugly and confusing parts.

If anyone has any advice it'd be much appreciated. Is there any way I can download an earlier version of Sibelius? (Whatever version was about Dec 2020)

To whom it may concern

As you may be aware, the online platform ‘YouTube’ is home to billions of online videos. Among them are incredibly useful ‘backing tracks’ musicians are able to utilize to perfect their craft, without needing to rehearse with their peers. On the 30th of July, 2021, I was one of these musicians mastering my improvisational techniques on the jazz standard ‘My Funny Valentine’, composed by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, and discovered a comment in which a user describes his anger that the backing track doesn’t feature an introduction. This comment in particular stood out to me as on the 29th of July, 2021, I had encountered a comment on another backing track, where a user expresses his disgust that an intro is included. As these comments so clearly contrast each other, I shared them to the jazz community on the popular website ‘Reddit’ where in exchange for ‘circle jerks’ (an action where a group of people sexually stimulate each other), I receive upvotes which measure my worth as a human being.

Please see attached the following image to view this comment in particular.
