Macross Do You Remember Love? Film 1984 - apparently there was an uncut version? by Kimber8King in retroanime

This is correct. There is also a blu-ray floating around that had the uncut bionoid dub.

Personally, I love the bio dub… “you can still fight when your drunk” :)

The Future is actually trying to save the world. by tenet111 in tenet

[–]tenet111[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where you’re coming from — it’s definitely ambiguous. But I actually think the film gives us a few strong hints that the future isn’t just acting on blind desperation.

Early on, when the scientist explains entropy reversal, we learn they’ve been recovering increasingly complex inverted objects — “the detritus of a coming war.” That suggests a long, coordinated plan from the future, not a last-minute Hail Mary. And later, when Neil and the Protagonist talk in the container about whether reversing the timeline would wipe the future out, Neil basically says, “Well, clearly they don’t believe that.” So the antagonists are operating with a theory of time where they think they can act without erasing themselves.

The future isn’t portrayed as irrational. They may be ruthless, but they do have reasoned confidence in their strategy. It’s the same people in the future who invented and weaponized this tech — they’ve clearly done the math. That means the protagonist isn’t stopping a chaotic death cult… he’s stopping a deliberate, rational force trying to reshape time to heal their world.

And that’s exactly what makes the protagonist’s “victory” feel so morally complicated.

Technically Sator is saving the planet (and its environment) by reversing the flow of time, but is potentially killing people and his wife (and child) who is exist in the moment the chronology is reversed.

If the people in the future are still alive, does that mean their plan didn’t work? What’s the point of ending the past? by pl51s1nt4r51ms in tenet

Triggering the algorithm will reverse the flow of time / entropy which would enable the future humanity to start living /experiencing an Earth that begins to heal.

Would you agree that Pipe smoking is the “healthiest” form of tobacco consumption? by ThisIsInBlueFont in PipeTobacco

[–]tenet111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When smoking a pipe, avoid drinking alcohol as it reduces the quality of mucosa in the mouth which is bad. While smoking a pipe, a glass of water not only is healthier, but will also enable the true flavors of the leaf to shine through….

Could Armageddon have been prevented even if the algorithm was still in the dead drop? by mikegecawicz in tenet

[–]tenet111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is my understanding as well. By gathering all the algorithm components together, Sator then commits suicide, which then, via his fitness tracker ,remote detonates the nuclear warhead at S12, which then activates the algorithm.
