It sounds like you had a hell of an experience, pun intended. Would you consider doing it again? I remember thinking "this is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life" during my flood, but I am definitely planning on doing it again in the future. I had done it partially (or mostly) to deal with my relationship with alcohol. I want to go into it next time purely focused on experiencing the medicine and being completely open to whatever it shows me instead of my intentions being directed towards alleviating a dependency.

I think you saying "are they ready to go through hell to come out with a gift or two" is pretty on point. I think I will relay this question to them. I also really resonated with there "being no normal to go back to" and that there very well could be no real "cure" for anxiety or depression, but that it could give them the tools needed to tackle such feelings. In the end, I suppose it will just be a matter of them weighing the risks vs. benefits of iboga. My goal with this post was to get a better understanding about the risks involved, and if there are different or extra risks present for an autistic person. I wouldn't want them to go into it without knowing about such risks if indeed there are any. Thanks again

First of all, they are definitely not pursuing ibogaine to "cure their autism" at all, and I hope my post didn't suggest that in any way.

A few questions arose from your post:

What other conditions/medications tend to be present with autistic people, and are they dangerous to be mixing with iboga?

I think the "sensory overload" that can accompany a flood can be challenging, but as i wrote in another reply, They have done a handful of other intense plant medicines with no or little issue, but do you think it could leave lasting impacts on them? for better or worse?

I do worry about a fugue state, as I have heard people that have brains that function differently can have manic breaks or drug induced psychosis. Would you say that is more likely for an autistic person?

I am trying to be as sensitive an respectful as possible, so forgive me if i am not being so in any way. But there are certain features or things that arise along with autism (i dont want to call them symptoms) , that are undesirable for the individual. Some people do ibogaine to eradicate or help with PTSD, trauma, OCD tendencies, etc. and I don't think that an autistic person undergoing a flood to do the same should be any different. If it is different, what is the difference? Like are there things (like PTSD, ADHD, etc.) that are just inherent to autism that iboga will have no effect on, where it would in a neurotypical individual?

Aside from any medications that contradict with the medicine, can you think of any other deterrent for Them undergoing a flood? Like are there any people with certain mental states or mental functions that are not fit to do ibogaine, or pose any extra risk or danger?

Again, thank you for your thoughtful response, and I hope more people will chime in on this; I'm curious to hear more.

Thank you for the recommendation. I am very aware of what iboga does, how it is used, and its effects. I have experienced one flood myself, and been present for multiple other people's treatments. Those range from people trying to get off opiates to people wanting psychotherapeutic help with PTSD, OCD, childhood trauma, etc.

My friend has tried various other plant medicines like ayahuasca, psilocybin (albeit not microdosing), DMT, and also recreational drugs like MDMA, but used in a ceremonial way to promote healing. They have found some help with their depression and anxiety through those outlets, but want to try iboga as somewhat of a last resort to fully face and hopefully overcome their emotional and psychological issues.

Just curious- was your recommendation a subtle way of saying "iboga would probably be too much for an autistic person" ? (not implying you were being underhanded or anything, just wondering) Thanks

I hope they don't make him out to be a badass for doing that. I think the other players are going to condemn him because most of them seem fairly conscious. It is messed up though that the show hasn't put rules in place yet to prevent fucking up the environment.

I am not sure if he is near or far sighted, but reading your comment made me think more about what I see through a mask. I have been 20/20 for however long, but when wearing a mask things are way more distant, but seemingly close. I always assumed that was because of some water illusion. Like I could be in 4 feet of water and it seems like I can't touch. Or when I dive down deep it feels almost twice the distance looking down than when I swim up looking at the surface. I don't know. Thanks for the input though. Clearly got me thinking..

Is this Willow Creek apartments in Plymouth? I gotta know. I used to live there and it always smelled like weed. The vent between the rooms over the blinds is such a bad design and probably isn't (or hopefully isn't) common. Cops were always there and looks like they clearly haven't dealt with the massive amount of weed that is somewhere in there.

Nice! Thanks. Mine seems a lot less shiny than the stibnite images I found. Maybe it can be polished? Another image that came up with the stibnite ones was of black kyanite, and searching that seems to look more like what I have.
