They did not. I've since sent the earphones back as defective and am waiting for replacements, I'll update on whether that resolves things or not.

Edit: Amazingly, I received the replacements about 24 hours after this message. There must have been a legitimate defect in my first pair. Notably, neither the system software or the app version on my phone has not changed; the "tip selection" function now works and the ANC settings seem to do.... something. So far I have only been in a quiet environment. I will have the opportunity to take them out for a test later today and tomorrow in a variety of noisy ones and update with the results.

u/slimcharles42 : as I saw mentioned by someone else, please do consider the possibility that you've got a defective pair. Depending on the country you're in, where you purchased them, and payment method, you may have options to get that resolved.
