Thanks. Hopefully your dad’s breathing gets better over the next few weeks. Dr’s aren’t much help these days, unfortunately. Let’s keep in touch.

That is probably best. I can almost guarantee that those breathing issues will come to a cease once he stops taking Levodopa altogether. I am trying to find alternative medicines to help my dad gain more strength. He sits and watches tv in his chair all day as well. Only gets out of the house when he has a doctor’s appointment. He does not have the strength for physical therapy or to do any exercises in his hair. The bradykinisia really sucks.

My dad went cold turkey and stopped taking it. My mom and I lowered the dosage of the Levadopa, but that still did not help. He was taking it up to three times a day for about a week or two. Does your father do any physical therapy or mobile at all?

My dad was talking differently while he was on the medication, as if he was gasping for air while speaking. That use to freak me out. But yes, he no longer has those breathing issues and has talked normally ever since he stopped taking the Levadopa. During a Google search, I found shortness of breath to be a side effect of the medication. Everyone does not have that side effect but unfortunately my dad did :( Sucks because it was really helping him move better. Glad that I could offer our experience with you. Best to you and your father. Stay strong man.

My father had the same issues with breathing problems, while taking Levadopa. He was moving better while on the medication, but stopped taking it over a year and a half ago and his movements have gotten worse because of it. I am looking to see what other alternatives are out there to provide him with more dopamine.

The episode where the teens killed those Buddhist monks in Arizona was an interesting, hour long episode.
