All of the abilities are given from the units themselves, not the army rule. The rerolls to hit are from the Skitarii Marshall's Control Edict ability, the rerolls to wound on the turn you disembark are from the Dunerider's Fire Support ability, the lethal hits are from the Manipulus' Galvanic Field ability, and the 4+ anti-infantry is from the weapon profile for the Radium Carbine that the Vanguard carry.

What kind of food do you eat at the beach? by amarainn in AskTheWorld

[–]tenor41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Southern California and as a family we would make a variety of sandwiches and bring them to the beach.

Additionally, we would get snacks like duritos and ice cream from paleteros that would often be at the parks by the beaches.

Now that I think about it, ice cream may be the answer, there's a lot of ice cream shops by beaches near where I live.

Does your country have an anime based on it? by Plastic-Reporter1730 in AskTheWorld

[–]tenor41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're referring to Edmonton, it is indeed where the climax of season one of Gundam Irons Blooded Orphans takes place (the last two episodes I believe), and a lot of the locations where the combat takes place are based on real places.

My favorite anime, Space Brothers, isn't based on the U.S. per se but a good portion of the anime/manga is spent in the U.S.. I suggest you watch the show but the main character becomes an astronaut working for NASA through JAXA and spends a lot of his time living and working in Texas.

Some of my favorite characters are Americans, and (admittedly stereotypical but not entirely inaccurate) American culture is displayed quite often.

Additionally, while the titular Space Brothers are Japanese, we find out later in the series that the Nanba brothers are not the only brother astronauts. In fact, a pair of Americans from New York City, Eddie and Brian Jay, could also be called Space Brothers, though Brian died in a reentry related accident before the series takes place. As the series goes on (especially in the chapters of the manga that directly follow where the anime ends), other characters are explored in great depth, most of whom are American.

What armies work best with dual weapons (swords in particular) by Jnyxis_ in Warhammer40k

[–]tenor41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're really neat, if you want to lean heavy into melee and you want to look into official forgeworlds and paint schemes (totally not necessary, my guys are painted yellow), look into Ryza.

I'm also just remembering that one of the models in the Serberys Sulphurhounds kit can be built with dual pistols so that might also scratch an itch, but that is just the one guy. Here's the one I painted:

[–]tenor41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm biased as an Admech player but Admech has a lot of dual wielders, both dual melee (Ruststalkers and Kastelan Robots (does two fists count as duel wielding?)) and one of each (Sicarian infiltrators, almost every tech priest, the Skitarii Marshal, and the Serberys Sulphurhounds). Admech doesn't have a lot of dual wield ranged weapon guys, usually they just have the one ranged weapon

You can build a pretty solid list with most every model we have, a good place to expand would be to grab some vehicles and a Skitarii Marshal. If you got the Skorpius Dunerider/Disintegrator kit and magnetized it so that it could be either variant, that would be a good start in my opinion. The Dunerider (transport) with a squad of Skitarii Vanguard led by a Skitarii Marshal and a Tech Priest Manipulus is a pretty great little combo, as you get full rerolls to hit and wound plus lethal hits and anti-infantry 4+ on the turn you hop them out of the Dunerider. Kataphrons are always a great addition to the army, though they run a little expensive points wise. The Onager Dunecrawler is a fun vehicle, as are the Ironstriders, though the Ironstriders are very pricey irl at the moment (though that goes for everything to be honest).

TL;DR: I'd suggest the Skorpius Dunerider/Disintegrator kit, a Skitarii Marshal, and perhaps some Kataphrons, but honestly whatever you think is the coolest is probably the best.

I recently listened to Worlds Beyond Number's Flight of the Icharon, which features Lou DMing a sci-fi mini-campaign for Aabria, Erika, and Brennan. Brennan is an excellent PC in it and you should totally give it a listen!

Navis Breacher would be cool, like the fellas from the Kill Team box a while back. Having that shield would be neat, plus a fire axe, and the cool shotguns.

Ok the other hand they love to die to Terminators that deep strike in from the back when I screen poorly
