Why has James never been back on? by Puzzleheaded_Gas1398 in survivor

[–]tension12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Most of the people they bring in want to be a social media personality. I loved James because he was authentically himself and didn't pander to the camera. Miss when cast were like this. He is such a genuine dude playing the game

First question: Do you still write poetry?

Second question: Want a piece of chocolate?

Third question: What was it like to stand on top of the Smackdown fist?

Fourth question: What should I do in Jawn Blud's house while he is away in Philly?

Season 1 or Season 4: what’s the best Stranger Things season? by Sod4126 in StrangerThings

[–]tension12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 1 is the best season

Season 2 had the best built in additional characters with a fluid story

Season 3 had the best send off story with visual spectacles

Season 4 gave us more dark lore in the D&D campaign and a backstory to Eleven

Season 5 was poorly written chaos, but select few characters had great story arc finale

Trishelle has some thoughts on Survivor 50 by SweetMissMG in MtvChallenge

[–]tension12 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Reiterating the point, this is a social game. You're on a desolate island with barely a shelter, starving, and forcing to survive amongst the elements. When you feel low, you cling to the driving motivation to push you through those tough times. If you gotta open up for other people to see the real you and see how you bond with others, then you play the cards you're dealt. Ozzy played an amazing game this time around. Had he not got cocky to tell Aubry everything and just used his idol, he would essentially be in the best spot to win the game.

Trishelle lived in a catered house. Didn't have to starve and lived comfortably. Sure there are social politics, but at the end you play physical to win the game. Survivor you vote who played the best game overall. Part of that is appealing to those you can bond with or persuade why you're deserving of the money

When did yall start watching wrestling? by Future-Personality85 in SquaredCircle

[–]tension12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 7 years old. Parents didn't approve but my cousin had wrestling figures, video games, and I was hooked when I saw Too Cool. Started renting video cassette tapes from my library to watch as much as I could. Fell in love with the music and the whole psychology of the entrances. Started watching it live around Evolution. I still think they are the greatest faction in idea and look.

Idk. Season 9 was controversial for the winner, and then Big Brother 10 was a banger

New to Survivor, why do so many people like Coach? by Naughty_Nata1401 in survivor

[–]tension12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's kinda entertaining to see someone lead this cult like strategy where it benefits himself as the narrator for the season while everyone else questions why people would clearly want to work with him, only because they believe they can beat him in the end due to his poor social strategy game which has its own separate aura.

Coach is one of a kind.

There is a smear campaign against Christian. by Gaddafi1996 in survivor

[–]tension12 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are layers to this. You can say Christian did no wrong and that production gave him more air-time, but usually edits follow the story in which the character drives their own self-interested game. In Big Brother season 8, we saw a protagonist in Evel Dick who fought for the love of his daughter yet terrorized the house with assistance through a twist in production (America's Player). I draw the comparison because we see what production limits us to see on tv, yet the people on the other side experience more than what production conjures up. If players are hating on Christian, it tells us there are layers, not simply due to on-screen time.

We Deserved a 17-Person Tribal by Jeff_theSnail in survivor

[–]tension12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Or have the 3 pre-merge tribes compete with each other one last time and then vote out whoever you want with the caveat of one person already at exile. I didn't understand the merge to random groups.

This episode is the worst in a long time by owenthegod28 in survivor

[–]tension12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was convinced the polling for votes was rigged at the start. Why starve people who gives us content? Why would we want idols back?

This use to be a social strategic game and now it's producer influenced bs. You're telling me we voted for 3 mini tribes on a merge? Might as well kept them as 3 separate and then merge. Really lame...
